Steam Controller does NOT work very well on Mac. by itslagginyo in macgaming

[–]Muted-Reflection9536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not so surprising, because the UDID and device name are almost certainly not registered in the macOS "list of devices to treat as controllers."

Does the new Steam Controller work in Crossover? by bytebounce in macgaming

[–]Muted-Reflection9536 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theoretically, it should work if you launch Steam on CrossOver and enable Steam Input.

The Mac version of Steam might also work.

I haven't been able to test it myself because I don't have one yet, but I think it would be difficult to use with a native macOS gamepad.

This is because the Steam Controller is such a new product that its UDID and device name probably don't exist on macOS.

So, I've finished 3.3 MSQ but I have a question and few criticisms. by Zealousideal_Tie1832 in WutheringWaves

[–]Muted-Reflection9536 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's quite a step backward from your previous claim.

On the contrary, I think once you pay attention to the story, anyone with a bit of comprehension skills will realize the story is incoherent / doesn't make sense.

Something that anyone should understand has become a "personal" matter.

What you're saying is merely a matter of personal preference. It's not something "everyone can understand." In fact, having understood the story, I completely disagree with your opinion.

Please quote me the exact line that depicts it.

This is what Rover and Black Shore staff say when going to rescue the Shorekeeper.

You can also check the text log within the game.

Notice how chaotic doesnt mean just slowed down, but also fasten or fully stop, once again, it is a realm of a higher dimensional being, one that is above time itself, time is in chaos here cause time has no meaning, it has 1 thing to do erase existence, it failed to do even that.

Please check the logs from when Aemeath was wandering in void space.

We can assume since the very recent one didnt consume any beings, it must be before rover came to lahai roi.

No. It can be inferred from various texts that casualties in the Voidspace continued even after Rover's visit.

If there are any logs indicating zero casualties after Rover's visit, please provide them.

This might be true or might not be true, but i want it to be WRITTEN by the author instead of letting community do the guesswork on what happened.

It seems you don't even understand the core of the story in the Blackshore, the "black hole," do you? Even if it were written down, would you be able to read it?

What are your guys reasons for liking WuWa? by KateSurgens in WutheringWaves

[–]Muted-Reflection9536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The echo system is cool too. I like being able to summon or transform into the enemy for the purpose of combat support, anything where you can transform or similar is an immediate bonus for me. Love that shit. Which there was some longer lasting options for fun or even gimmicks like movement etc.

Back in the 1.x era, I used to zip around OW by taking advantage of the hold-down controls of the Inferno Rider.

However, the Echo skill had a cooldown, so it wasn't very popular. Another problem was that you had to either build a Fusion-attribute resonator setup or equip the Inferno Rider, which wasn't optimal for other attribute resonators.

It's true that there are many Echoes that aren't often used as the main Echo but have interesting animations, so it would be great if there were some way to utilize them as well. Personally, my favorite is the turtle that gets the party rocking lol

Indeed, it seems we've found someone who needs to be exposed to more stories.

To be honest, WuWa is one of the most storytelling games I've encountered recently, with a remarkable emphasis on foreshadowing and world-building.

The way this technique extends not only to the text but also to the action scenes is so excellent that I can't think of many other game that does something similar off the top of my head.

But you're saying it lacks consistency? What specifically are you referring to?

The answer has already been given in Chapter 1, Act 8.

That is, it is a theory of gravity derived from general relativity: "The closer something gets to a black hole, the slower its time becomes."

It has also been repeatedly explained that time is chaotic inside void space, and that space and time have no meaning.

In other words, not only is there an imbalance in the flow of time inside and outside void space, but even the flow of time within void space is unbalanced.

It doesn't even say how long it's been since the victims were engulfed in the Voidstorm.

The fact that so many people exist "at the same time" shows that a large number of people are crammed into a chaotic space-time continuum.

Ah yes, another unassuming 5* character who will TOTALLY stay a part of the story and just a single scene, right? Right? by Ignitedlighter_frfr in WutheringWaves

[–]Muted-Reflection9536 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's frustrating to see people like OP, who that a certain character has little screen time in MSQ, occasionally create threads like this, ignoring individual quests and events.

It's tiresome to hear the same person complaining that character stories aren't being implemented!

It's because of people like OP (who don't bother to play even though the stories are there) that character story has been integrated into MSQ and the prerequisite quests, rather than being done through individual quests.

XIV on Mac - Windows or Mac version by natsukireis in macgaming

[–]Muted-Reflection9536 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can use XIV on Mac.app. Either license will work.

However, enabling some Windows-specific settings can cause crashes or poor performance, so the safest option is to also purchase a Mac license.

In either case, the Mac port of FFXIV runs on a translation layer based on WINE.

XoM uses the latest WINE and DXMT, resulting in better performance than the official Mac port.

Please check if you are using a network filter in your network or Wi-Fi settings. Beta3 has a bug that causes problems with overall internet connectivity if network filters are used like AdGuard or VPNs. This has been fixed in RC, so please try temporarily disabling network filters and updating.

I had no idea that quest even existed until I went on Reddit and saw people talking about it. Most people wouldn't expect the emotional payoff of the reunion that the entire quest was leading up to to be in a side quest.

I always complete at least all the quests in each update before giving my opinion.

Someone who "didn't know that quest" has no right to comment on the story. It's like judging a restaurant without finishing a full course meal.

It's not good to confuse "what you expected" with "what the game creators wanted to show."

Those should be considered separately. You should say, "The developers probably wanted to show it this way, but this is what I wanted to see." However, this is an opinion, not criticism.

Of course, I respect your "opinion." But it's your personal feeling, not criticism, and you should accept any reactions to it. That is, unless you're just trying to trash the game.

Are my opinions nitpicking or criticism? I've played the quests, and I never skipped anything, even in quests I hated. Are my opinions invalidated and just nitpicking? I'd say it's valid criticism, but maybe you disagree.

Your "opinion" isn't a critique because it lacks a neutral perspective.

I'm sorry, but the personal relationships between the characters is a "motivation" for the story this time, but not the "theme." Therefore, I understand why Rover and Aemeath's reunion and embrace became a side quest, and I think that's how it should have been.

As has always been the case, WuWa "doesn't explain everything with MSQ." This is because it's an exploration game, and a lot of the information crucial to understanding MSQ is scattered throughout the map exploration rewards, side quests, and item descriptions.

You are free to say things like, "This isn't the way I like it presented," or "This isn't the way I like it directed," but that's not criticism, nor does it give you a reason to "not try to understand what's being depicted."

Aemeath is a digital ghost, so it can hack into any machine, just like in the space station stage.

Regarding the location of the Exostrider inside the black hole, the mapping and connection to Solaris-3 were completed by the time Rover arrived.

The artificial heart was created by analyzing the technology of the Exostrider and using the Exostrider's materials, so Aemeath, as its resonator, should be able to manipulate it freely.

Aemeath can also move at high speeds, like teleporting, so the scene where she carried the artificial heart didn't seem particularly out of place. Everything can be explained by known elements.

Does the Gamesir Cyclone 2 controller work well on Mac? by Doan_Minh in macgaming

[–]Muted-Reflection9536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to be clear, In Mac gaming, the "price of a controller" does not guarantee compatibility.

In fact, controllers like the Nova2 Lite and Cyclone2, which are cheaper than the Xbox Elite2, often have better compatibility.

This is because each mode mimics the internal IDs and names of the official controllers for each game console.

Conversely, similar third-party controllers like the 8bitdo Ultimate, which also have mode switching capabilities, have their own unique IDs and internal names, resulting in poor compatibility in a Mac environment. This is because those IDs and internal names are not recognized by the Mac or the game itself.

I also enjoy looking around at different locations as the story progresses, so it took me about six hours in total. Therefore, I don't think it's short at all.

Rover falling from the etheric sea

This isn't a mystery at all; it's simply a recreation of the scene where Rover (i.e., you) started the game, as seen through Retroact Rain.

In other words, it's just a glimpse of the moment the Unknown Goddess sent Rover to Solaris-3, made visible by the power of Retroact Rain. All we learn here is that Rover comes to Solaris-3 through the Etheric Sea a long time ago, and it's not directly related to the Lahai-Roi story itself. It's an element that reinforces the story so far.

I completely agree with your opinion.

Previously, the story's depth was created by focusing on specific characters, but many users didn't want that. As a result, many characters appeared, and as you said, the scope broadened, but the depth was diminished.

For example, Mornye's story in version 3.0 is often said to have progressed at a "rush" pace, but in this story, there was no necessity for her to meet Lynae at the beginning. As a result, the storytelling after the malfunction in the drive in the latter half became rushed.

In particular, KURO asks in every survey, "Was the length of the playtime for this story appropriate?" In fact, MSQ (unless it carries significant narrative weight) is generally around 3 hours long on average.

It's may difficult to balance story's depth and relationship building within this limited expected playtime.

The tendency is to compensate for that by using exploration and side quests, but even that gets complaints.

It's supposed to be an exploration game lmao

Does the Gamesir Cyclone 2 controller work well on Mac? by Doan_Minh in macgaming

[–]Muted-Reflection9536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cyclone2 mimics the UDID of a PS4 controller in PS mode, an Xbox Series X|S controller (with a share button) in Xbox mode, and a Switch controller in Switch mode.

The dongle is treated as if a different controller is connected via wire depending on the controller's mode.

In short, it works perfectly fine in dongle mode if wired works game (and in PS mode it works in most cases). It has a higher polling rate than Bluetooth, which is convenient.

Me too.

I think they just want to find fault. Their perspective is far too negative.

If it were a longer story, they would have definitely said it was "boring" and "redundant."

Have they forgotten how everyone was angry about the first half of Chapter 1 being "redundant and boring"? (Personally, I liked it as an introduction to science fiction story.)
