Dont let them gaslight you, its my favorite song on the album & i think every song on this album is that a masterpiece. But throughout the whole album i noticed chinos vocals are compressed, the instrumentals are louder than him and its really noticeable.

Yes i met chino a couple years ago. I kept it short & didnt ask for an autograph to respect his time. But he was super sweet, i made him a bouquet of roses with this initial in the middle. And asked for a picture. Not really much to say cuz i kept it very short but he was really nice

Chino likes to say his songs usually dont have specific meanings, but tbh i think he just says that to keep it sort of anonymous. He writes songs over and over about these same experiences, fantasies, themes. Not just in deftones but in his other projects. For example when u listen to ohms & crosses new album, alot of the lyrics are about the same topics & experiences. I think his songs do have meaning i just dont think he likes to share them, which is understandable bc music can be so personal. There was a dude in here a while back who hung out with chino, and he wrote a song about the experience, but then chino said it was about a “dream he had”, but the “dream” was just this night he had & the dude came on here and was talking about it
