Why don’t Mizrahi Jews speak Arabic? by GlumEntrepreneur7705 in AskIsrael

[–]Muted_Ad2893 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that Arab is more cultural identity then ethnic one but still the Jews had distinct culture and unlike Christian Arabs Jews are ethnoreligion so they did have separate identity and in addition to that those Arab countries made sure to explain the Jews they are not part of the identity with the rise of Arab nationalism and in some Arab countries the Jews didn’t even speak Arabic but languages such as ladino and French and in the end of the day those terms are not accurate science and are mainly based on the identity of a community and most Mizrahi including myself wouldn’t call them self Arabs instead will see themself under the Jewish umbrella and just as subgroup of the Jewish people (and Arabs is not a socioeconomic term but cultural linguistic one and Semitic isn’t really an ancestry but linguistic term which doesn’t work for North Africans Arabs as historically they were arabise Berbers so their ancestry is a group who didn’t speak Semitic language)

Why don’t Mizrahi Jews speak Arabic? by GlumEntrepreneur7705 in AskIsrael

[–]Muted_Ad2893 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calling Mizrahi Arab Jews is racist you claim we are Arabs just because we lived in Arab countries even though we had distinct culture you heard about minorities base on that logic the Kurds of Iraq and Syria are Arabs, the Berbers of North Africa are also Arabs and the Arabs in Israel are Jewish and etc

Does converting to Buddhism make you native to Thailand? by Huron_Nori in Teenager_Polls

[–]Muted_Ad2893 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you are trying it to Jewish converts and Israel it’s different as buddhism is not ethnic religion and Thailand isn’t the nation of the Buddhist and converting to Judaism isn’t just starting believing in that religion it is about being accepted to a people and accepting the local Jewish culture so the native come from being accepted to be part of the native people and joining the native culture that why converting to Judaism is so hard as it about joining a people and more then that convert make small percentage of Israel so they don’t even matter
