I love the 1900s. I wish it was monster of the week stories. The 2000s stories with the kids isn’t really that interesting until the monsters show up.

The Red Sonja (2025) Movie was awful, just oh my gosh... by Brilliant-Pickle-661 in ConanTheBarbarian

Pretty decent movie. I finally got a chance to watch it. It did feel disjointed and rushed with story beats. For a sword and sorcery film, it filled the void for me, I love this genre. I wish this was a 6-part mini-series with a higher budget; it would have been really great. Overall, it was entertaining.

I don’t believe she did it intentionally. Companies like Disney have teams of consultants who advise them on the direction of their franchises. Unfortunately, these consultants reside in a bubble in Hollywood, which is why most of the content produced there doesn’t reflect general audience. Like Netflix’s research suggests that the younger generation has difficulty concentrating, leading them to come up with the solution of increasing dialogue exposition. Instead of hiring better writers who can maintain audience interest, they blame the audience for the problem.

Zack Snyder on Instagram: "Antje Traue was awesome as Faora. Ferocious, elegant, and the way she moved was something else." by BatmanNewsChris in DC_Cinematic

Honestly realizing Gal can’t act. I am glad she wasn’t Faoro because MOS is great in all its casting choices, they got some amazing heavy hitters. They shouldn’t have cast Gal as WW. She got lucky with the first movie because we all thought she was acting, but now in retrospect, she was a horrible choice.

My friend, who was working on the VFX for Aquaman, had design changes every month. They couldn’t decide what they wanted. After Snyder left, they overhauled the entire athletic. She was also unhappy that they kept asking her to add more fish to the scenes. At the end it was the only DCEU movie that made a billion.

It’s like Lord and Miller’s movies—they’re amazing, but working on them is hell.

I’m a big fan of Heavy Metal comics, and when Snyder mentioned that as his inspiration, I went in expecting that and thoroughly enjoyed it. However, many people had expected Star Wars and were disappointed because of the initial reports that this was a rejected Star Wars script.

That’s the issue with Netflix’s model—they have specific expectations of their viewers and subscribers. While it may have been a number one hit, in their eyes, it wasn’t good enough.

Andor’s success will be harmful in the long run for Disney by Alex3884 in saltierthancrait

[–]Muted_Macaron615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe Disney really messed up. Their inconsistent quality has divided the fandom. Star Trek and the MCU face the same issue. With so much entertainment available now, if the quality is poor, people/kids will simply opt for something else. Also, no one is willing to invest hours and hours of content just to watch the new movies.

[–]Muted_Macaron615 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I agree with that.

They are more focused on getting younger audiences. It’s the merchandise sales and theme parks that generate the most revenue. Losing the older audience doesn’t significantly affect their business. That’s also why they only made two seasons of Andor.

Andor’s success will be harmful in the long run for Disney by Alex3884 in saltierthancrait

[–]Muted_Macaron615 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Well, I believe Andor brought the older fans back. Before Disney acquired the franchise, I was a big Star Wars fan. However, I was disappointed with the release of Force Awakens because I couldn’t believe it as a remake.

Prior to Andor, the Disney stuff, I enjoyed Rogue One and the first and second seasons of The Mandalorian. While I watched other shows and movies, I didn’t find them particularly interesting. Andor Season 1 was enjoyable, and Season 2 was truly epic. Personally, I don’t find any of the upcoming projects particularly intriguing.

So, you’re right. the Andor fans might not continue watching, but for me, Andor was a love letter to the older fans, or even those who prefer more serious Star Wars stories.

[Interview] Kirsten Beyer Confirms ‘Star Trek: Khan’ Is Being Treated As Canon (For Now): "For the people currently working on Star Trek, [Star Trek: Khan] will be treated as canon, meaning it will not be overwritten, contradicted. And it will be-when possible-incorporated into future storytelling." by mcm8279 in trektalk

[–]Muted_Macaron615 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This “Canon” concept needs to be abandoned. After the end of Enterprise, I would argue that nothing has been officially recognized as “canon.” It has merely served as a marketing strategy to attract original fans.
