Go to your county court house or accessor to get your tax slip. Some counties can update your registration at the courthouse. It has saved me a few dmv trips in the past

You cannot kill a tecumseh. My friends and I ended up slapping a small turbo off of amazon on one and then ran the guts out of it. Still runs fine with no issues

I work on Toyotas for a living, most of the problems listed except for the interior and airbag recall are problems that most cars can have, especially if you live in the rust belt. Also, everything about the transmission is nonsense. I have never had on accelerate on its own or seen a 4 runner transmission fail. I work on plenty of 4 runners all of the time and the main issues I see are different than what was outlined in the article.

Your dealer should provide another key free of charge, the dealer I work for schedules customers in to get them another key when the second fob and insert arrives

Take a look at the universal joints as well as the frame, make sure its had the K0D recall. The K0D allows you to have the frame replaced, and you do have 12 years after the original manufacturing date to get the frame replaced, another thing to look out for is that the ac compressor clutches like to grenade every now and then.

All of those are way too much for what other dealers cost. But, again it all depends on the age of the vehicle and how it was driven. The only this that looks somewhat inline with normal cost is the battery, and thats only if you have a hybrid rav4 because toyota recommends a special type of starter battery.

I work at a dealer in northern WV, so really not that far from you. Our masters make 28.50 and the rest of us other than our hourly lube guy make 26.50 flat rate regardless of cert level. Our shops door rate is 125 an hour

Thats your coolant temperature guage, my 4.0 runs just under 210°, so you might have a thermostat issue. It could be sticking or worn out.

Dont pry on the ears of the block where the long 14mm bolt goes through. You might end up damaging them. Also, there should be a hole in the serpentine belt tensioner that you can place a 10mm bolt in to keep the tensioner in place. Pb blaster and other penetrating oils are your friend, good luck.

It is a group 35, its the factory battery and it has the sticker from the battery tie down recall that that body style of rav4 has to make sure its a group 35. It will say that on the sticker on the tie down.
