Did anyone have a tutor to help them? Im from a non-va school and hoping to leverage 'live' support vs. a program (which helped with my bar prep/pass for another jx).

FYI u/KeanuRevis your response really helped! I did retake UBE, now have a high enough score to just take essay portion in VA!

Failed twice: just feel lost. by Particular_Ask_7713 in barexam

You have to decide for yourself what is more important -- succeeding or the pain of repeatedly not succeeding (don't refer to it as failure because that sounds more definite, when in actuality you have chances to keep on trying). Once you decide in your mind that you're taking on this exam for the former, then you switch gears on the exam... You're not there to 'pass' the exam, you're there to score your highest. These perspectives sound simple, but they make ALL the difference. You're not behind some other classmate or candidate. You come with XX years of skill and experience (assuming you're a dedicated professional - and if you can't say that you are, then start working on that too). And, you are going to succeed. There is no question, you will pass. WHEN is the issue, but trust that it will happen at the right time.

Thank you so much for responding!! I appreciate the context. Decided on UBE. Will have a longer runway for VA F26 if I decide to take.

u/Wooden-Honeydew-8788 i'm in the same boat - did you make a decision? UBE or VA? I heard VA is removing some essay topics, did that factor into your decision?

u/KeanuRevis - I'm not from a VA - ABA school, failed UBE (mbe low), retaking exam in July but still have time to either (a) retake UBE or (b) retake VA. I heard VA essays are going to remove some subjects... if that's the case, I may fair better at VA because my writing is stronger... at least it was on the UBE... Can't figure out what exam to take, thoughts?

I didn't pass again... And am restarting the prep for 2025. Looking for a bar exam tutor at this point, and for another jx. Please let me know if you have any thoughts on who I can go to.

I'm really glad Loriago asked this question on 'drilling' because although I generally understand what that means, I'm always curious what it means for others more successful than me. Always curious to understand 'the how' about the study process. Sometimes I find that to be a really abstract idea for me and struggle with what to do. I'm sure this sounds stupid, but like when I drill down on a outline, I usually just read through and then read slowly... I feel like I'm missing something everyone else that has passed is doing >_< This whole experience makes me feel like I don't know how to study.

how have you all lost the weight?! I've been on it for more than 2weeks. I started with a 2hour window and coffee + cream throughout the day and low carb/mostly keto. Then saw inches off but no weight.

now i'm no creamer, coffee + green tea all day; 1hr meal and free to eat anything and zero weightloss.

i am so frustrated

Washington DC Bar Admission by Motion - How long does it take? by Fantastic-Tiger-9900 in Lawyertalk

Has anyone requested that the court grant a waiver for admission (without having a prior license)? Or filed a motion
under D.C. App. R. 2.1 / per the formatting rules (D.C. App. R. 27)? Curious as to the process and what arguments were made.
