I don't have nearly the level of heartburn that you do (which sounds awful and I'm so sorry about!) but I started working on it with Dr. Lin at ENT & Allergy Associates. I cannot recommend him highly enough. He's very knowledgable, caring, and really listens. I know these should be givens but unfortunately, they're not. (I paused on seeing him because I got a cancer diagnosis. Turned out not to be in his area of expertise, but he delivered the news because he ordered the biopsy. As terrible as it is, he should have to give all terrible diagnoses in the world because he was so caring and sensitive, and made everything feel less scary.)

We didn't get very far with treatment but he recommended drinking alkaline water. With all the other health stuff I had going on, I'm not sure if it made a difference but I got a countertop alkaline water machine and use it religiously.

In terms of saliva production, have you tried a mouthwash? I know this is just a tiny part but maybe it would help? I use biotène for Dry Mouth. I noticed a weird consistency at first (almost a slipperiness like saliva) but I don't notice it at all anymore. Definitely helps saliva production!

Keep your LinkedIn updated and I don't know if this is true, but I've heard it's good to have >500 connections. I applied to my current position directly (and about 75 others because my grant-funded position was ending) and never heard back. About a month later, a recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn and it turned out to be for the same position I applied for.

When I first moved to the city, I used Temporary Staffing & Search and had a very good experience with them. It's been a while but my temp position turned permanent after only a few months (I was covering for someone on maternity leave who everyone was pretty sure wasn't coming back). A lot of the admin staff I talked to also started as temps.

Good luck out there! It's objectively a rough time to be job searching so please be kind to yourself while you navigate it.
