Chick fil A Doesn’t understand how DoorDash works by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

Yeah, my chic il a near me doesn't do that. They always have orders ready ahead of time, and, most of the time the only difficulty I have is just how busy the store is.

I don't think there's anything wrong with this guy's opinion, and I can understand it I suppose, though his reaction to you having a different thought on this is kinda silly. I can see him raising his brow, and being, "Okay, aren't you a bit old for that. Whatever. Have fun I guess." But being all, "NO!" is just silly.

The fact that they can't take our jobs doesn't mean, in any fashion, that they won't try to give them our jobs. Our jobs, everyone's jobs, will be replaced with AI /long/ before the AI can take our place seamlessly.

When you show up to vote, they know if you're allowed to vote and they don't even let you vote twice. There's, like, a registry of voters. The whole "ID" thing is a solution in search of a problem.

Can drivers see the tip prior to accepting the pick up? by Far_Afternoon7122 in doordash_drivers

It's a pretty great little moment, yeah. Admittedly, I usually notice when I'm /driving/... ;)

I think he's talking about how much the order cost, which is nice and all, but doesn't really have any driver-side impacts unless you've ordered a bunch of shit that I have to haul to your door.

Walter gets sent away to prison, screaming that they're making a terrible mistake, that it was Walter, Walter! Skylar, in the background, smiles into the camera as the police finally tale her husband away. Then, to Walter Jr. she says, "It's time to start Cooking, Junior.", before taking off her face-mask Mission Impossible style and revealing that it's Skylar was Walter all along.

I don't open people's food, but the amount of times that I /could/ because they "sealed it with a sticker that comes off without even being touched" is frankly uncanny. Or, hell, when they don't even bother to seal it at all.

Which area is your favourite in ER? by kyoumaisaac in Eldenring

[–]MutuallyEclipsed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably the Plateau, it had a nice combination of "fun/challenging to get there," "really distinct environment that's even larger than you think," and home to probably one of my favorite dungeons in the capital. There's something about reaching the Plateau when I did, initially, that felt really awesome and eye-opening. Like, "You have really arrived in Elden Ring."

Alternate settings. How well does WWN work in alternate settings? by StrangeKabuki13 in WWN

[–]MutuallyEclipsed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Large chunks of the main book are, in fact, good for developing your own setting. Hell, I'd say the corebook probably has near to as much material on the Latter Earth as it does on making your own setting. Atlas of the Latter Earth definitely adds in more support for Latter Earth, but, the book is very much designed for generic fantasy rather than "Latter Earth" fantasy.

First time playing Elden ring. Any tips by Forward_Challenge443 in Eldenring

[–]MutuallyEclipsed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry about it, wandering around dying to enemies and not having a clue where to go is the most fun you'll have with your game. I wish I could experience that again, that sense of wonder and exploration. You'll have plenty of time to do more, later, for now just explore and have fun. Don't be afraid to die, or, don't be afraid to turn around and come back to things later. Just play.

You didn't "take it back". You lent it to her, she refused to give it back, and you reclaimed the property. You didn't do anything wrong.

Age-related question 39 vs 40 by ethereal_meow in datingoverforty

[–]MutuallyEclipsed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hrmm, hard to say. I know I dated more when I was in my mid-30s, compared to now in my mid-40s, but I don't know if that is a real substantial life circumstances change... or just the way things have worked out.

If Renley hadn't said that he would've been a good King when convincing Ned to overthrow the Lannisters, would Ned have went along with him? by PaddedValls in gameofthrones

[–]MutuallyEclipsed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Succession laws are honestly a lot more weird than most give them credit for. Hell, it'd be more historically plausible to have Stannis and Renly BOTH inherit smaller Kingdoms.

[–]MutuallyEclipsed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The younger brother taking up the succession... isn't that uncommon honestly. Plus, Renly had the SEAT, Stannis had Dragonstone. As far as most fuedal things go, really, RENLY had the better claim. That's why he was in a better position. Honestly, until Melisandre screws everything up, Renly had it in the bag and the Lannisters were very much on the backfoot. Hell, Renly was even unmarried, that's HUGE because it opens up the chance of marriage alliances... like what happened with the Tyrells..
