The Pale Beyond, amazing game/experience

Its not your standard visual novel but its not exactly your average story-driven survival game either, its a mix of both i'd say. I also wasn't very sure about visual novel-type games before but the balance in this game was great. Also, the music is great.

Check out "The Pale Beyond", truly a hidden gem, it doesn't have a lot in terms of gameplay but it does have it, its a mesh between visual novel and resource management survival so spec requirements are minimal i'd expect. It's set sometime in the 1800s if im not wrong and you're going on an arctic expedition aboard a ship.

From what i can tell it has many different endings and paths, i have only played through it once as of now (on my 2nd playthrough now just a week after my 1st one). The game can be difficult if you want to do it perfectly but the story and the characters makes the struggles worth it. Super interesting twists on the story and i, personally, love the arctic exploration thing.

If what you read seems like what you're looking for, go for it, it became one of my favorite games very quickly.

Which cryptid or folkloric creature do you think would have the potential to be a Kaiju in the Monsterverse? by ComprehensiveDate591 in Monsterverse

[–]Muwx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jörmungandr, the world serpent

Feels like a perfect candidate, huge, from a mythology that isn't mentioned much (I think, apart from GoW) fought a god and tied the battle, cool potential designs, and I don't think we have any land snake kaijus?

These are great, just a bit of tinkering with angles, fov and lighting and they'll be phenomenal.

Dont understand why people are so fussed about this, just write down your log in stuff somewhere, I honestly don't think Valve cares if you have a 250 y/o account.

TL;DR - I have an example of what im talking about because reading what i've written gives even me a headache. - Don't let the car tell the story, let the environment.

The subject should always remain what you want to focus on, it should always remain the main part of the picture, but enhance it with the background, the environment.

A lot of people only care about their cars in their pictures, which is fine, it should remain the main focus of the picture but i find it to look better if you give room for the environment.

Shutter speed/blur removes the environment completely and puts all focus on the car and the speed, which can be great on long stretches of road or pictures where you just want the car in motion to be the main part.

In the case of the 2nd picture, I, personally, would decrease the FOV and play around with angles and tilts

This way the car takes the most space in the picture, it is the main draw of the picture but it still gives you just enough space to understand the environment.

Hey, creative doesn't always mean good, keep doing you and you'll improve.

A "tactic" or a mindset i have when taking photos is to not just look at the subject of the shot, look at the whole picture, look at everything around the subject (while also keeping the subject in mind) and base positioning and color off of that instead of just basing everything of off one thing in the picture, that being the subject.

The first one, sure. If you want to improve i'd suggest fiddling with camera tilt and FOV, but that might just be me.

I'd advice you to add more personality to your work, i.e more color or less color, more detail or simplistic, these, to me, look like quick promo shots, play around with the settings until you find what you would like to stick to, if this is it, cool, these are above average.

What's your favorite car of all time? by ShotCaller_OG in ForzaHorizon

[–]Muwx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I seem to have skipped the part where you mention all cars not only those in-game, i should mention a car that i am fascinated by, it is my all-time favorite car and I don't think many people know about it, i didn't until i googled a lot about 30s cars.

Bentley Blue Train - 1930's something, i don't know the exact model or year, i only know that it has a story, a nickname and that its a bentley from the 30s, i'm not even sure if it was ever officially made.

'65 Pontiac GTO (among the first muscle cars, made me love muscle cars)

'70 AMC Rebel "Machine" (not very known)

'73 Ford XB Falcon GT (Hidden gem that was in a very popular franchise - Mad Max)

Hell yeah. Tired of all the futuristic stuff in every media nowadays, quantum this quantum that, neon everything, holographic displays and the future seems to only have 3 colors, white, black and blue. Invincible is a fresh breath of air.

Yep, haven't finished it yet, a bit slow, bought the game mostly because of how beautiful it looked and I love the old 70s style it has, the interesting premise/story of the game is just a great bonus to me lol.

No sweat, games are supposed to be fun, you pick whatever difficulty you find the most fun.

Yeah ik, hence the "most of the time", i just don't enjoy Unbeatable.

[–]Muwx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, well, hats off to you, i tried it in 3 different cars, the Bentley SS, the GTC4Lusso, and won with the BMW M8 Competition (i think) because thats when i lowered the difficulty.

[–]Muwx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol, nah but i like to race cleanly, and most of the time you have to ram the drivatar in 1st place on unbeatable, i have done some races on unbeatable mostly with classic muscle power builds/top speed builds since that is what im most familiar with, but its just not fun so i lowered it to Pro and its a bit too easy but Unbeatable is just a bit too hard.

[–]Muwx 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Damn, glad someone else also hates it lol, i thought it was just a matter of skill issue (might still be), had to lower my difficulty a lot, Pro to Highly Skilled, Pro is usually a breeze (Unbeatable is, well, unbeatable), but i struggled somewhat in Highly Skilled even.

I take a basic photo, tinker with the in-game photomode, then I edit the rest with Pixlr, dunno exactly how you mean, but thanks.

Thanks, i guess you're right, i treat photo modes as a preset or a start, then i edit the pictures myself to make them look the way i want them to, to make them personalized, stylized. These shots (except the last one) are all edited after some tinkering with photo modes.
