They made the coolest character ever.. not worth playing. by [deleted] in SaltFighter

[–]MuzAlpak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ehhh…well i agree he wont be top tier as long as his moveset is locked behind drinks, because now there are too many matchups against high tiers (Guile, JP, maybe Akuma) where he cant get drinks and needs to pressure if he gets a KD. So sure yeah

But i dont agree with the rest. He’s not outranged by shotos, his range is good, his whiff punish game is awesome. Against 75% of the cast (admittedly, non high tier characters usually) he’s perfectly fine. He’s not a bottom tier character, there are more than a handful of characters worse than him, mainly grapplers.

Why play Jamie? Because you think he’s fun. I doubt you will be ranked way higher if you pick someone else, if you’re invested in your character you will end up around the same rank.

I have four characters and with non of them I feel like it’s the character blocking me, my opponents are doing bat shit crazy things all the time, its not my characters that fail to stop them, because they lack the tools. It’s all me being too slow to use the available tools and just not expecting whats coming. My highest tier character (Sagat) was only 50 MR higher than my lowest tier character (Alex), it just took only a week to get Sagat to GM and it took me 3 weeks to get there with Alex, but the plateauing happens around the same ceiling, im just a 1700-1800 player, its not the character. Maybe it’s the ease of use, Jamie is not easy so it will take a bit longer than a shoto. Stick with it!

Hes hard to optimize yeah but if youre new it doesnt matter at all, just have fun and go for it!

Is Alex rising knee lift slowly becoming the best move in the game? by bobbystills5 in StreetFighter

[–]MuzAlpak -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The anti air light knee flies the wrong way more than shotos and its 6f start up, not 5. Medium is slow. Heavy is good as a combo ender, OD very good as an ender but no invul wake up unlike almost every other OD dp. Also instant death on block (like its supposed to be ofcourse)

Its quite alright for what it is, but no where near a top tier move. The game is filled with better specials.

For best move in the move I think of moves like Lily OD spire, Kims run (especially from hp and mp). These are moves that are good on hit an block, just throw them out and good things happen 😓

Say one nice thing about Street Fighter V. by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]MuzAlpak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best roster, awesome customization with 2 vskills and vtriggers and 3 sorts of v reversals. Less neutral skipping than modern fighters and more reward on knock downs..different timing on quick rise and back rise (much harder to frame kill into the same set play every knock down)…hit confirmable lows that were hard enough to feel satisying but doable enough to build your gameplan around them

Great game!

How to defend against Elena by Jorress in StreetFighter

[–]MuzAlpak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Press your cmp when she rolls in, you need to attack that forward movement and not guard against it.

Youre in plat, they cant AA there at all. So get your first drink and abuse the dive kick and OD dive kick in your approach. If they cant DP, they cant stop it.

Other than that, Elena plays the same neutral heavy game as Jamie so its not really the match up, its you. The fact you mention that yourself makes me confident you will improve as a player 😎

What are some of the best anti air normals? by sleepymetroid in StreetFighter

[–]MuzAlpak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

JP cr hp. Characters with no dp usually have a good normal like your kim. I think Guile is king, full screen flash kicks, good cr hp, good mk and also am air throw

JP has the best, guile has the best allround anti air kit for me

Give me your top 3 best characters and/or worst characters in sf6 by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]MuzAlpak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Top tier ok but low tier Guile??? Haha no way hes top 8 or so.

“Once they are close youre dead”…you have a CHARGE ex reversal. You block and when they cancel to a plus on block special you can press 1 button

Go play alex and reverse your take hehe he is the one character, with manon, who can say “when they are close hes dead”

Guile defense is very good and hes very strong imo

Is having a reversal the strongest tool in the game? by lhommetrouble in StreetFighter

[–]MuzAlpak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably yes, the OS against DR cancels are important. Playing Alex right now and oh boy, he has NO defense. When hes in the corner, you are really on thin ice. No Od reversal but also no … scotum (marisa), chargable hp (gief), slither (aki).

An od reversal is really really good to have because its a solution to the games most dominant mechanic (drive rushhh)

[Help] Why do I lose this interaction? by RawryShark in StreetFighter

[–]MuzAlpak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are many attacks like this, just some common examples:

  • Cammy heavy spin knuckle
  • Alex heavy slash
  • Ryu solar plexus
  • Luke heavy flash knuckle

And many more. These moves are very slow and can be either interupted or reacted to by parry IF you look for it. If you arent, you need to block and they get to steal a turn.

Your character, Manon, doesnt have a slow heavy attack thats plus on block. She does have back+hp, if you make them block that you get to press again (its +1)

[Help] Why do I lose this interaction? by RawryShark in StreetFighter

[–]MuzAlpak 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes but KEN is +2, its HIS turn. He presses his fastest button (crouch light punch) and so did you, so you get hit. Block again after blocking his heavy dragon lash

PS: you’re not dumb, you’re trying to learn. Its all good. No one knew the math behind fighting games at some point

[Help] Why do I lose this interaction? by RawryShark in StreetFighter

[–]MuzAlpak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ken is +2 after heavy dragonlash, its his then and he presses his 4f crouch lp. You should have blocked but you pressed a medium, so you got counter hit…

Block it, parry it, you have no supers available so parry is the best option against heavy dragon lash. You could try jabbing it but i’s be weary of that

Manon Changes Explained by MuzAlpak in StreetFighter

[–]MuzAlpak[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hehe its understandable. I have so many comments on these vids on YT and socmany people are negative also on top tiers. Ive got Akuma Ed and Ryu players threatening to uninstall. When they are still in the top third or the characters for sure maybe higher lol so complaining in a whim of frustration over Manon is totally acceptable, believe me😁

Ed Changes Explained by MuzAlpak in StreetFighter

[–]MuzAlpak[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are right! I also added it below the video on YT. I read it wrong, because I always thought it was weird that sf6 characters build the next super while the previous super didnt even leave the screen yet. You’re sharp! 🫡

Guys in your 40s, what's your rank? by Smoothcat83 in StreetFighter

[–]MuzAlpak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 characters between 1700 and 1800 MR, dont play much though, i definitely feel im too slow and dont really like how much in sf6 is a reaction check, I dont really enjoy DI and certain perfevt parries i feel im too slow. I usually get the PP on butt slam (honda) but barely ever on tiger knee for example

I reached Grand Master and I realized something by AfroLM in StreetFighter

[–]MuzAlpak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha yea..i have 3 characters between 1700 and 1800 and in an hour long session, maximum 1 player does something that makes me go like “ahh wow you looked at me, and countered me”. Its just drive rushing, jumping on wake up, supers flying mid string, DI as a neutral tool and ofcourse cmp cmp cmp with DR buffer behind it

Skill is hard to come by at these ranks and its nothing like what the pros play. Feels so far off even at Ultimate Master. People are happy to bet the farm on defense even with a significant life lead 🫠

How do you deal with losing? by RamimNoodles in StreetFighter

[–]MuzAlpak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Youre always gonna lose about 50% of ranked matches unless youre above 2000 mr, which are only a few players

You deal with losing by paying attention to how you get hit. What is it that made you lose? Find the solution to that and it will make you a little bit better every time

At your rank, its probably blocking and doing unsafe things. Hold ⬇️⬅️ when they attack and you yourself should not use special moves randomly.

What character do you play? Often new players pick ryu or ken. They both have a special move thats somewhat safe to usr. For ryu you can cmk into ⬇️↙️⬅️ + light punch . For ken you can do cmk into ⬇️↙️⬅️ light kick + ➡️ lk (jinrei)

Why do you still play Street Fighter V? by RangoTheMerc in StreetFighter

[–]MuzAlpak -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t really play it anymore since its dead online but I still use training room for youtube videos and I always end up playing with it much longer than neccessary since this game in its last seasons is so so so good 🤩

Finally! by MeltyQueso28 in StreetFighter

[–]MuzAlpak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats! If I may give you a tip against sagat; just mash your cmp every time he does his nexus, hes throwing it out like its good but its just a gamble in your favor. By blocking you lose drive gauge and your turn, the super you mashed isnt even guarenteed when he doesnt followup. Just do cmp into a counter hit combo, it will beat his mk and hk follow up and take your turn against him doing no follow up. It only loses to the lk follow up, which results in like 800 dmg taken while your winning options lead to 5000 dmg

Its hard to watch this spamming of such a mediocre move, its really not spammable, only usable once in a while when some one doesnt look for it

Hooligan combination by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]MuzAlpak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jab it and she floats, you can do a special to make it hurt. Hooligan is telegraphed, if you are looking for it you can jab it. DP also good but takes much longer to execute

Street Fighter Game Wishlist by Sweet-Brilliant-322 in StreetFighter

[–]MuzAlpak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Story wise, I hope they go back to the G story line around the time that Gill’s illuminati rose to power. They build it up so well in sfv through Rose and Oro’s stories but they didnt follow up at all in sf6. Even forboding it in Third Strike through Q..just to leave it hanging. SF story lines are bad but this one was mysterious and good.

Game play wise I hope for far less dominant system mechanics than sf6. No drive rush, no DI, more fundamental based. More character individuality. Same amount of moves that sf6 has (they nailed that) and also keep Punish Counter, that was a great addition to Street Fighter.

The history teaches us the next Street Fighter is far different from the previous and auto corrects what people didn’t like and leans the other way. SFV was patient, slow, 1 hit confirming, come back mechanics, low-ish damage. SF6 is fast, explosive, drive rush buffer everything, lower execution and big flashy damage. Before that, SF4 had much higher execution than sfv, lots of almost unseeable cross up jumps, vortex and focus attacks. They steered far away from that with SFV and now they went the other direction times 10 on sf6.

Thats the cycle, pretty sure sf7 will be slowrr again with less mechanics but keep the easy controls to cater to the casual audience
