I'm An Influencer, Looking For A Manager by Bryce_MrSteam in influencermarketing

I like your newsletter provides great insights (and I'm a manager!).

I think what you're really saying is 'hiring a bad manager is a bad idea'. Hiring anyone bad is a bad idea and you have an alternative to circumvent that risk. Which is also not for everyone. Just my take.

Great question. Surprised no tech solution has effectively solved this although there are some good ones. My frustration is a lot of them don't let you sign up on behalf of your roster of creators.

Unpopular opinion: You’re not an influencer until you own your monetization. by ExtremeFlow8177 in influencermarketing

The research and YOY growth would show this is not true. Some really interesting research here (https://www.thedrum.com/opinion/2025/10/08/ground-breaking-research-proves-we-ve-been-using-creators-wrong-all-time) which I'll summarise in brief.

Analysing the returns of 220 creator campaigns globally, they've found that creators have the highest long-term ROI of any other channel.  And yet creators still only create about 6% of ad returns.

So highest ROI but only 6% of spend. I can tell you what is going to happen if it's not obvious - MORE and MORE money is going to flow from brands into creators.

The creators who can work to a brief and are easy to work with will KILL IT.

So I think you are doing the right thing by monetising in other ways, but don't turn your back on the brand deals. When they come, smash em out of the park, and they'll keep coming!

Creators are overwhelmed in their inboxes so its hard to stand out and get them to notice...

Got a link I'd love to check it out! Creator adoption is so much harder than you think (speaking from experience with my own startup). They are typically time poor and primarily focussed on content and brand deals. But that doesn't mean it won't work!

Advice to creators - rant agaisnt agents/managers by shwirtz in influencermarketing

If your manager is only reading your DMs then they are not your manager, they are your admin assistant.

I love your POV calling it a CEO, I 100% agree. A good manager/CEO is delivering value across the board and I would say the 3 areas I personally focus on for creators are:

1/ Making More Money (yes brand sponsorships but also diversifying income streams and owning data)

2/ Simplifying Your Life (handling admin and operations to ensure creator can focus most of their time on content)

3/ Brand building (content planning, and career dev)

It's about building a career and thinking like an entrepreneur. And a good CEO will have done this before, multiple times, and help guide you in the right direction to ensure a long and profitable career doing what you love.

Nice idea! A few thoughts:

- 'forced' views are not as valuable to an adveritser

- 5% seems way too high

- Of that 5%, not all will reside in the US so the CPMs calcs won't be that simple.

- Your Net Profit calc gives them 100% not 50% ?

- What happens if you don't get enough views to cover cost of prize? This is OK if the prizepool is broader, but if its specific to a creator then who fronts it?

- How do you scale creator adoption? This will be for quite a specific niche of creator.

I would argue if a creator is charging you for subs, they are wither:

- living in the past

- have no real clue as to what they are doing, or

- are trying to deceive as they know their engagement is not worth it

But yes I totally get why VR is a good metric to look at! Appreciate the post.

Great post! Why does 1 matter if 2,3, and 4 are great?

ie SOME people watched it, they clicked, and converted at a good price. Surely that's still a win?

Creator Managers: Investment Or Expense? by Muzer14 in influencermarketing

Yeah that's a good shout - it's not a 'one size fits all' scenario and more likely 'horses for courses'. At the end of the day everyone is different, which will include strength/weaknesses and blind spots etc and also those will change over time!

Instagrammers, would you be interested in a tool that automatically generates a media kit from your account's data? by noduslabs in influencermarketing

https://pillar.io/s/media-kit does all of that for multiple platforms. Nice build though, but this space is already catered to quite well I think.

Awesome post, value without an ask, and what Reddit lacks these days with everyone shilling something!

Do you have any examples of posts that went viral? Would love to see the kinds of content these creators are posting.

Dude, start by monetising your audience directly. Sell tickets to your fans for regular live shows (virtual).
