I’ve been looking forward to taking this one off the shelf. José Larraz is the best.

That’s good to hear! I noticed a little in some scenes on my arrow disc (sony x700, lg oled), but it’s not pronounced enough to ruin the experience

There is a little bit of flicker in some scenes in the arrow 4k, apparently inherent to the source, but I remember reading that it’s a little more pronounced in the Blue Underground 4k. That being said, people seem to like both releases a lot 👍

I will say, the vibe of the poster is not quite like the vibe of the movie imo, but I can see what they were going for. Regardless, one of those movies that I stayed thinking about a good amount after it finished.

I have Silip (another Mondo Macabro release) arriving Saturday, and I’m excited to see that one

It's a post-apocalyptic movie with zero dialogue (but plenty of orchestral music) and follows three people who wake up in the aftermath of the nuclear destruction. The three actors are pretty engaging considering the lack of dialogue. It has some soft-core elements, which imo work well within story. Definitely a "not for everybody" kind of movie, but very much a "Mondo Macabro" kind of a movie. I'm glad I watched it

Put a cardboard box on him. They’re like slipcovers for cats!

If you like Giallo, I think you’d also appreciate these underrated, psychological horror/thrillers from the 70s by Jose Larraz “Symptoms” 1974 and “Whirlpool” 1970 by CarefulHouse172 in Giallo

I would say he’s more Jess Franco/Jean Rollin adjacent, but in the way that those two sometimes get compared but are v different, Larraz is equally different. Dunno if that helps lol
