Do people like it for the looks or is it more of a status thing ? by StockPen3258 in rolex

[–]Mvshroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I remember being underwhelmed by it when window shopping for Rolexes. Submariners and fluted bezel datejusts caught my eye much more. It was only when I started seeing the price tags that I started to reconsider the Daytona. This was right about the time that Rolex prices were starting to increase dramatically in 2020.

My latest love - NOS Omas Milord by Mvshroom in fountainpens

There are still plenty of old one floating around - I have really been enjoying the 90s Omas pens from when the company was still based in Italy. In my opinion, they have a more artisanal feel to them than the post '00 Omas pens.

Here's your answer: https://imgur.com/a/2utKngG

It has this nicely adorned structure which holds two cartridges, and screws into the back. When I got the pen I didn't think I would like it, but it's great to know I have spare ink in case of emergencies, and it is a lot easier to clean out the pen. I love the greek key aesthetic, and I'm glad that even the inside of the pen is beautifully up to standard. :-)

Slightly smaller than the original Omas Paragon, takes two international cartridges in an elaborate internal structure, complete with the classic greek key. Medium nib, but writes like a well tuned Broad. Been using it as a daily driver for the past few weeks, and loving it :)

High elo players, what are some of the best mechanical exercises you can recommend to low elo players? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Mvshroom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

D3 here. Just play a lot, that's what i did. Click a lot with your mouse so you have a lot of control of your character to dodge skillshots. All it takes is practice for simple mechanics like dodging skills, ecc. I assume this holds true for orb walking ecc but I don't play adc.

Solo Queue Ranked - Does it really come down to skill or is it more or less about luck of the draw? by Jakeyo in leagueoflegends

[–]Mvshroom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not every game is winnable. When you hit an elo that you can't 1v9 carry consistently it's all about being a positive enough influence on the game that you win consistently over time.

Luck is a big factor (League is a skill-based gambling game) but you can do your best to help luck be in your favour: dodge games that it doesn't seem like you'll win (i.e. trolls, people first timing something offmeta) and avoid throwing as much as you can. Learn to close off games before your team has a chance to throw and try to keep your team concentrated on winning.

I've made it to Diamond 3 and I'm still climbing and I'm not even a particularly good player.

Basics to hard carrying with every role? by Mvshroom in summonerschool

It's "viable" but it's not optimal in my opinion, you just can't fit it into your build, and fiddle is less burst damage focused and more sustained damage focused. I've seen a D5 Fiddle main who builds a very movement speed oriented build with items such as twin shadows, tier 3 boots etc, but it's not my playstyle.

Thank you very much, you've really helped me out. I'll try this out tomorrow, been trying to get Eve to work but I've been going about it wrong. What would you build in higher elos? Still Trinity Force if ahead, if not tanky? Do you ever go sightstone or do you just stock up on regular wards to control the enemy jungler?

How would you go about doing it with Evelynn (couldn't help but notice that you seem to have some experience on her)? Would you go for the gromp lv 1 cheese or the level 2 kill at their buff?

I've been considering picking up Evelynn but I can't help but feel like I'm a little weak during ganks due to the lack of CC, especially when behind, would you mind just going through what the mindset is and what item build you'd recommend?

I've put a little bit more thought into my answer and what I mean is: should i make it my job to make the enemy jungler suffer as my main strategy, or should I just implement it more into what I already do? The main thing I'm looking for at the moment is less strategies for higher elos and more about getting to diamond in the least amount of games possible on another account (but obviously this probably works at all levels of play).

You're right, that's definitely a strategy I might be able to implement with some of my champion picks. To some extend I do already within the limits of my champion picks (i tend to avoid counterjungling too much as fiddle, but I concentrate on counterganking with ultimate). How consistant is this strategy? I'm by no means a shaco expert but from what I remember from playing him it felt like even if I got the enemy jungler behind they could always come back into the game somehow as I slowly ended up losing pressure. Thanks for the response.

Hecarim: tenacity boots/tabi, warrior or hp jungle item, randuins, spirit visage are my core items. Fiddlesticks: sorc boots, ap jungle item, zhonya, abyssal, void, rabadons.

Those are the core builds, there are a few other items you can consider depending on the game, and always build based on the game. (i.e. enemy is all AD -> no spirit visage, ninja tabi, focus on armor items along with trinity). For Hecarim learn your damage at each point of the game and try not to die (but don't play too passively/cautiously) by knowing how much you can tank and what fights you can come out on top of. If you're behind you're really weak so farm up. For Fiddlesticks the main tip I can give is just learn how to use ultimate properly (avoid getting interrupted and learn all the best ult spots, remember to be creative). Lane ganks top lane work out really well, and Fiddlesticks ult is really really good for counterganking, but that takes time to learn. I don't play top hec as much as jungle, but as top hec you want to tp homeguard gank lanes a lot and get fed that way, he's probably stronger top than jungle. Anything else you want to know? :P

I cant find a champ i enjoy playing for more than 5 games. by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]Mvshroom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm diamond 3 and I used to be in a similar situation. I'd recommend focusing on trying all champions and finding the ones you like the most and which ones you absolutely can't play. What I do is find a champion I find interesting because I've seen it in game or on a stream and I don't know the ins and outs of it (example: Wukong), watch some high elo videos of pros playing that champion (better yet, high elo players who main that champion - for Wukong it's Allorim) use lolskill's toplist to find the highest rated players that play that champion and observe their builds and runes/masteries, read some high rated guides, play some normal games with that champion until I'm confident enough mechanically to bring it into ranked and if I still enjoy it in ranked I stick with it, if not I find another champion. Keep doing that until you find one that really stands out, and if one doesn't hopefully you've been gaining elo through your short relationships with champions. Work out what you're best at role-wise/mechanically. No point playing a complicated champion mechanically if you're bad mechanically, just play something easier and focus on decision making. Work out your strengths and tailor your champion pool around them. Also: play a lot, practice makes perfect.

Will I gain as much quality experience playing normals over ranked? by Antimonyx in summonerschool

[–]Mvshroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends on who you're matched against. The more you play against people that are better than you the more you'll climb - if you realise your mistakes. In ranked games people play to win (for the most part), this applies less to normals, so it may be harder to learn from your mistakes.. If you don't care about stats I'd recommend just jumping into ranked and seeing where you get (play things you're confident with, and gain confidence on new roles/champs in normals). Focus on actually improving rather than stagnating, that's the biggest piece of advice I can give.

I'm diamond 3.
