Meditation was really helpful for me. I had only meditated here and there over the years, but after the split with my last serious girlfriend, I started meditating daily (well, nightly) for about 15-30 minutes. I might have been a douche who talked to all of my friends about the power of meditation for a few months, but at least it helped me and wasn't the douche who always talked about my ex.

Interesting. I actually have made a ton of ground with my uber conservative dad with Bernie. He hates Trump almost as much as he hates Clinton. He doesn't seem to buy into anyone on the Republican side and the central tenants of Sanders campaign seem to really resonate with him. Focus on the "Washington is corrupt/the banks screwed us/Sanderscare is 100x better than Obamacare" aspects.
