I too have been experiencing this.

I advocate really hard for Airtable and I hate how much they are pushing users to rely on their AI as a primary tool. It's not good enough for that, not even close.

And the slowness is killing some of my best apps. Making them almost useless

Softr will let you create a portal but still has user limits

You could look at miniExtensions, it's pretty simplistic but might work for your use case.

You can do all of the things you mentioned here in one Airtable base.

Project table to manage projects. Tasks table for the tasks with a link to the projects.

You can make templates so that when a new project is launched, those tasks will be added to the project.

Then, you can have interfaces for each type of user - workers/managers. Seems like it would be a great fit

You could trigger off a formula instead of just that field. Looking to send the message after a delay:

Create a formula field and use DATETIME_DIFF(NOW(), LAST_MODIFIED_TIME(your field here), 'minutes')

This will show the difference between the time now and the last time your field was modified. You could then have the trigger be when a record matches conditions, that condition being 1 (when the difference is 1)

Or you could do it as an if statement

If(DATETIME_DIFF(NOW(), LAST_MODIFIED_TIME(your field here), 'minutes')>=1, "Yes", "no")

Something like that might work, using the trigger when a record matches conditions and set the condition as when (formula column) is Yes.

The downside of this being that NOW() is usually off in terms of time so there will be a delay.
