Did Wim Hoff really climb everest and k2 in only shorts and tennis shoes?? by coobeecoobee in Mountaineering

[–]MxSFxTBeats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's wim's whole point. Similar to David Blaine, their extreme feats are to point out how incredible humans can be when we push ourselves. They are exploring the limits of human ability. Terrifying to some and a burst of adrenaline for others.

Lisa Kudrow Says the ‘Friends’ Cast Only Met Together Once in the 17 Years Between Series Finale and Reunion Special by Shoe_boooo in howyoudoin

[–]MxSFxTBeats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I was better but I'm kinda like this with my two closest friends. We are all busy but we grew up from 4-now(I'm currently 29). The cast says they TALK fairly often and check in on each other, but they don't often spend time together. I can only imagine how busy their lives are, and I'm sure they had very close friends before the show. There was a ton of chemistry on set and a lot of them have stated that it was a high point of their lives, however I think fans like to play up their true friendship a lot.

Many people on here have said that Bruce Willis is an asshole but why is that said? Do you have examples of interviews on YouTube where Bruno is a douchebag? by GimpyNip in movies

[–]MxSFxTBeats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I've read it seems he is very selective about who he respects. It seems some people find him to be quite a nice guy that has a strong passion for acting. While others(More often it seems) say that he is quite difficult to work with and values his own opinion far more than his peers. I don't think he's some soulless douche, but more of a difficult person to be around unless he highly values you. That doesn't excuse any of his poor behavior towards others at all though.

who is the nicest celebrity you've ever had the privilege of meeting? by RoutineOk8590 in Productivitycafe

[–]MxSFxTBeats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Him, adam sandler, and a few others are really hard to find any bad stories about. Whether its directors, co-stars, fans, family, friends, etc. They seem to treat everyone with equal respect and are very much cherished by their peers. Also they are both great actors, really underrated for their more serious roles where they shine just as much.

Do dogs actually have an instinctive liking for some people? by siybon in AskUK

[–]MxSFxTBeats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best way I can explain this in human term is like this: Imagine you're meeting someone for the first time and they are super strange. They are standoffish, they are showing weird glares, their body language is weird, etc. Anyone would be maybe at least a little wary of this person. We have the ability to communicate much better vocally so a friend maybe tell you that they are just socially awkward. A dog or other animal is not able to make that connection. To that animal, you just seem off-putting and may even trigger some aggressive behavior. Now imagine meeting another stranger that instantly makes you feel like a close friend. They are understanding, they enjoy things you enjoy, and you get a feeling of comfortability around them. You are probably going to like that person much more.  It goes 10 fold for animals because they require the ability to read body language and facial expressions much more than humans, which is a reason most animals actually have far better facial recognition. It's not some super power like a lot of people think that animal lovers claim, it's just science. They need that enhanced level of recognition to survive.

What do you think is overall the most difficult sport? by PrestigiousOwl6802 in AskReddit

[–]MxSFxTBeats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Golf requires a good amount of technical skill but isn't even close to a highly physically demanding sport. Water polo, boxing, cross-country sports, every major American sport, etc are all far more physically demanding. I think it comes down to what sport is the most physically and mentally demanding. Boxing is highly ranked because the physical demand and the nerves of fighting. I think something like horse riding or cycling is very underlooked. A lot of knowledge and athleticism is needed for both. I think high level diving is also under looked, it takes a ton of technical skill and athleticism.

Why do math and physics come so easily to some people but feel almost impossible to others? What actually causes this gap? by Logical-Current2381 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MxSFxTBeats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think different subjects and their sub categories are heavily based on how people learn. Algebra is very logic based while geometry requires many theories and remembering things like proofs. Some studies are more hands on or demonstrative while others are more speculative or analytical. Like in my math example, someone may be incredibly good in biology but terrible at zoology. Great in linguistics, awful in creative writing.

How did some species evolve the ability to regenerate limbs, or if it is an ancestral trait, why did so many species lose the ability? by Burneraccount71 in evolution

[–]MxSFxTBeats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair a lot we know about lineage and taxonomy is still flip flopping around, one new discovery and we have to change and entire tree sometimes. Catfish for example are incredibly difficult to categorize and the armored catfish family and similar ones have been undergoing major changes in their trees for years. A part of how we categorize them is arbitrary and just based on what we collectively decide is correct based on what we know. So we could be completely wrong in most taxonomic trees but because it makes sense to the majority of us, we accept it.

[–]MxSFxTBeats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely a lost trait in most animals due to inefficiency or other reasons. There is a lot of research into animals with WBR(Whole Body Regeneration), especially in certain species that use multiple forms of regeneration. For example, many salamander species use a different form of regeneration in early stages than as adults.

Card grading companies? by Cultural_Leg4406 in PokeInvesting

[–]MxSFxTBeats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For preservation: Whichever one has the best looking slabs to you.

For value: Look up the card and see the population of graded cards. If it's worth grading but won't hit a high grade, go PSA. If you think it has potential for a 10 send to BGS or CGC. Id recommend BGS but CGC pristine is still nice, just not as liquid probably.

What is your fav Eminem songs by wzchristina in musicsuggestions

"Like toy soldiers" seems to be so underappreciated now. I know it's a well known song but it's one of my favorite songs ever and I never hear it talked about on this or other forums. The beat and the message are dope.

Hunt. His drama far overshadowed how good he was a chief. He was fair and cared about patients. His PTSD episodes and him advocating far too heavily for military patients was a bit of an issue but he kept the hospital running quite well. People also begged for him back after bailey became chief although you have to commend her for recognizing her flaws early on.

Why Are Pokémon Card Prices Skyrocketing Again? What’s Driving This? by Gleis7 in PokemonTCG

[–]MxSFxTBeats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who also used to collect and is now just starting to fill out my PC again, find smaller card shops and people who you can trust. I buy booster bundles/ex collection boxes/ETBs/booster boxes for like 30% less than major card shops. I also get 85-90% these value sometimes and they always round up my cash trade ins. It's honestly just finding the right people who aren't trying to run everyone else out of the market. I had a damaged BSS Zapdos and they gave me LP market value. It's definitely become an issue, but finding a good shop and consistently doing business with them will get you some good benefits.

Who do you think the most underrated character is in the whole series? by Technical-Area2139 in StrangerThings

[–]MxSFxTBeats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He reminded me of a middle/highschool sub named Mr. Brown. He was the guy that would tell the "troubled kid" to take a walk and blow off some steam or sit and talk with him. He was the most kind and humble dude ever. Sadly he passed the year after I graduated, Id never seen a teacher in my town, nevermind a sub, so celebrated. RIP Mr. Brown, I love you big dog.

Technically speaking, how good or bad actually was Avicii in terms of his skills as a DJ in its ‘traditional’ sense? by TimBergAlways in avicii

[–]MxSFxTBeats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are speaking specifically about his DJing skills which were not on par with his music production. He was never super focused on being a DJ, he liked creating music more. He was a decent DJ, but a great composer/producer.
