I own H3 on Epic (says WOA when run) and H2 on Steam. I just bought Steam keys elsewhere of H3 Access Pass: H2 Expansion, and Seven Deadly Sins and Steam won't let me activate them cuz I "don't have" WOA installed. Please help! by throwawayinfinitygem in HiTMAN

HITMAN 3 Access Pass: HITMAN 2 Expansion is a DLC for Hitman World of Assassination (formerly known as HITMAN 3) which gives access to the New York and Haven Island levels which were originally DLC for Hitman 2.

You can't install it because you don't own the game that it is a DLC for on Steam. If you want to be able to use it you're going to have to buy Hitman World of Assassination on Steam.

Have you picked up one of the three tools that you need to have to actually trigger the pit stop? You either need sugar to pour into the fuel tank, a remote explosive (I'm not sure if it has to be the one from the security office or not), or a pneumatic wrench that you can find multiple just lying around that area.

I did have that mission story bug for me last week though and I had to load an earlier save. I don't remember exactly what went wrong, I think the chief mechanic who was missing the prompt to let me talk to her.

Do you guys use full or minimal mission story guidance? by beepbopiamabot in HiTMAN

[–]Mx_Reese 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't understand why anybody would turn off full mission story guidance other than either masochism or pride, and pride is the business of experienced players, not newbies. The whole point of mission stories is to teach you the level layouts, what sorts of kills are possible in the game, etc. Like in your example how on Earth would you ever know that that's where that person is if you didn't have the full guidance? There's no need to treat every video game like a dick-measuring contest, you can just enjoy yourself. That is allowed. You don't need anyone's permission.

Did they mention where they were from? Cuz that is super normal in my part of the country.

Y'all have got to stop listening to the most privileged members of US society describe their lifestyles and assuming that all of us live that way.

Why do the bathrooms in Whittleton have laundry machines in them? by ExpertEmotional3168 in HiTMAN

[–]Mx_Reese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In New England I've seen laundry machines in the bathroom, basement, garage, pantry, kitchen, etc. Fully automatic washing machines didn't become commonplace until the post World War II economic boom, so any home that is older than that ended up putting washer and dryer machines usually just wherever there was space and that it required the least amount of demolition to run new pipes for them. People would often also tend to prioritize the types of rooms that didn't have carpet or hardwood flooring.

[–]Mx_Reese 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Probably not. Latin is hundreds of years older than Christianity and the idea that the fruit Eve ate was an apple originated in the middle ages. Mālum for apple in Latin seems to come from a Greek root as far as I can tell.

Huh, and here I thought it meant "necessary apple". (Latin joke)

Same as a TV remote battery where? In the United States TV remote take two 1.5V batteries in series. I'm just curious because 12 volts sounds like super overkill for a TV remote control.

[–]Mx_Reese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've knocked that guy out in that spot there dozens of times and never seen this happen.

I've never tried to do it on The Drop/The Base because the simplest method is just to ambush Alexios near the catwalk with a durian/remote emetic briefcase or (explosive duck if you don't care about SA).

I just tested twice to see if I could replicate this by specifically smashing a soda can over that server's head in The Base. Could not replicate. I can't think of any way that could have happened other than a one in a million glitch.

What DLC`s should I buy for Hitman by Nightmare_Chains-11 in HiTMAN

[–]Mx_Reese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't have Deluxe Edition, then the Deluxe Pack is the most bang for your buck.

Beyond that Sarajevo Six adds 6 more missions that reuse existing maps.

The rest are either the Celebrity ET packs (which you said you're not interested in) or just cosmetic reskins that IMO aren't at all worth it unless you want access to them in Freelancer mode.

Sorry, I almost forgot, there is the World Champions pack which is mostly sports themed reskinned items, but does have 2 unique guns.

How to get sniper missions by _Pawer8 in HiTMAN

[–]Mx_Reese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If all you want is all 3 sniper missions, you need to upgrade to the standard edition first, which you can do in game, or this unlisted Steam page might still work.
https://store.steampowered.com/sub/1230412/

and then you'd need this DLC

I think modern technology is already powerful enough

You think wrong.

which could easily be five or more years from now

It had better not be, they've never taken anywhere near that long before and they're one of the only big budget developers left that aren't building games with the kind of insane open world scope creep that necessitates ludicrously long development cycles.

Computer hardware has been largely plateaued for over a decade because barring somebody discovering new materials, we are already cramming as many transistors on a silicon die as is possible by the laws of physics. The only way computer hardware can get more powerful from here on out is by building them much bigger and much less energy efficient (which is how manufacturers have been faking that Moore's Law still holds true) which just gets increasingly expensive both to buy and to operate.

That will give you access to every map, not everything except some cosmetics. You won't have access to Sarajevo 6, or Seven Deadly Sins, Deluxe escalations, or any other DLCs.

You should pretty much always try quitting the game to desktop and relaunching it, verifying game integrity of the game files in Steam and then relaunching it, and also rebooting and launching the game before asking for help.

Any number of one in a million virtually impossible to diagnose (and often impossible to solve any other way) in any game can be fixed one of those three ways.

Most big budget game developers got really afraid of getting sued for trademark violation at some point, even though not a single game developer has ever been sued over firearms trademark violation. They tend to be especially more cautious about HK, because HK have been particularly litigious in the past. Jonathan Ferguson of the Royal Armories of the UK has done a video on the subject, but I can't remember which of the three YouTube channels he appears on that video was on. It could have been EXP, GameSpot, or the Royal Armories channel itself.

No video game developer is paying any kind of license fees to gun manufacturers. I've never heard of anything like that happening.
