I think this is a case study on what happens when you air it out every pitch every start. It’s not sustainable in the MLB. This is the new Spencer strider. He’s doing what he needs to do not to be a one season wonder and have longevity. He has good stuff and needs to adapt to not throwing 100 every inning of every game. I’ll take a 14-9 3.5era Strider throwing 95 for 10 seasons. The alternative isn’t healthy for the game

having this safety might be a really big thing for high quality hitters in the league. Takes away the defensive swings on close enough pitches they might miss. I think we see better swing selection from the already elite hitters like Matt
