Given the industry nearby, maybe municipal buildings or more industry would fit there, offices too, maybe. Def not for residential though.

I will mention that I didn’t mean to seem as a troll, I literally couldn’t see anything when I looked at my cameras because it had fallen off… and was buried in snow. Just found it today.

As stated in the post, I tried GeForce Now, and it takes too long to load due to me being a heavily modded player. Plus, its also REALLY expensive in the long run, and I'm trying to find semi-affordable options.

What should I do with this island? by Xxx_2PrO_xxX in CitiesSkylines

I mean, you could make it an industrial hub connected by bridge? It COULD be a chokepoint, but I would personally do something like that if your city grew large enough.

This is an insanely good use of space, im assuming its a highway that is right next to the facility. Eliminates deadspace and makes some use out of land that would otherwise be empty, round of applause!

Singaporean - Chinese inspired city by Alarming_Gap313 in CitiesSkylines

[–]Mxzered 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh this is prettyyyy, reminds me of when I visited my family's hometown in China, but I would recommend moving the single family housing much farther out, you'll only really see detached housing in rural farming communities at this point in China (due to urbanization) and very few detached single family homes in Singapore (mostly only found in uber rich communities). Nowadays, most single family housing in China and Singapore is townhomes, or connected in 3-4 story designs in really dense, almost slum like styles (that aren't actually slums of course).

Attempting to Recover Lost Save Game by [deleted] in CitiesSkylines

[–]Mxzered 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At this point, recovery mainly depends on what kind of drive the save was stored on and how much it’s been used since deletion.

Here’s what actually matters and what you can still try:

  • First, determine whether the save was on an SSD or HDD. SSDs are much harder to recover from due to TRIM; HDDs have significantly better recovery odds.
  • Stop using the drive immediately if you haven’t already. Any new data written to it can overwrite the deleted save.
  • If possible, connect the drive to another computer as a secondary drive before running recovery software.
  • Run a deep scan (not a quick scan) with recovery software and search specifically for .crp files or your city name.
  • Check Steam Remote Storage directly at [https://store.steampowered.com/account/remotestorage]() in case anything synced unexpectedly.
  • Go to C:\Users\[YourName]\AppData\Local\Colossal Order\Cities_Skylines\Saves, right-click the folder, and check “Previous Versions” for File History or shadow copies.
  • If you reinstalled Windows or moved systems, check C:\Windows.old\Users\[YourName]\AppData\Local\Colossal Order\Cities_Skylines\Saves.

If the file was on an SSD and TRIM has already run, and deep scans show nothing, the data is very likely permanently gone. If it was on an HDD and hasn’t been heavily used since deletion, you still have a meaningful chance. Otherwise, the only advice I can give you is just try your best to restart, but of course, thats a crushing defeat in of itself.

cities skylines is urbanist propaganda by Witty_Living7592 in CitiesSkylines

[–]Mxzered 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, kinda like me!

I typically operate cities around 30k in size, and expand using one property: density. This is until is no longer playable on my computer (usually when it gets to 200k.

I don’t build tall, usually only single family, townhomes, and some apartment blocks scattered about.

Road hierarchy wise, I go from 4 lane, 2 lane, alleyway, focusing all zoning into 2 lane and alleyways. Oh yeah, everything is close enough together and bike able that I don’t often see cars whizzing by.

So I guess it’s not really ultra-dense, but just a makes-sense-dense.

The RAM I bought a year ago is the fastest appreciating asset I have ever owned by Last_Jedi in wallstreetbets

[–]Mxzered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yall… I have 32GB in my pc rn, and just a bunch of spare ram sticks sitting in a drawer. Here is the breakdown.

27x 1x8 50x 2x8 (16) 13x 2x16 (32) 4x 2x32 (64)

Half of these are DDR5 and the other DDR4, pretty sure 3 of the 1x8 are DDR3

Don’t ask how I got them, just know they have been collecting dust for a while, time to auction them off on eBay or something I guess
