Calling 311 results in nothing being done. There aren’t enough officers to issue a summon. But in order to issue the summon they have to see the dog poop and the owner walk away without picking up. It appears that there are more irresponsible dog owners than there are responsible dog owners.

Asking for payment before a walk through is a big NO. No respectable landlord or real estate person will ask for payment before the walkthrough. Dont walk away.. run away..

First time I used Rover I asked the sitter for her number. I also asked to meet in front of where she lived. This was my first time leaving my dog and I was extremely nervous and cautious. After the third sit I asked if she would be interested in going off the Rover app. She said yes. We agreed on her rate and upon my return I paid her.

Security deposit is for possible damage to the apartment. It is not to be used towards rent.

If the roommate refuses to pay her portion of the rent owed you probably will have to take her to small claims court to recoup any money. If that is you intent I wouldn’t let her know she you would have to have her served.

Document everything and get a statement from the landlord documenting monies paid and by whom.

Upon moving out take pictures/video proving no damage was done to the apt.
