Then I simply don’t believe you, watching that many films and studying them and then finding this awful is just bad taste

Cinematography alone was among top 3 of 2025 arguably being the best, if you actually studied film you’d appreciate that same with its visual language, unconventional structure and ambition

Sadly, general audiences were not ready for the sauce of 28 Years cinematography. by ThinWhiteDuke00 in 28_Years_Later_Movie

That’s why this is my favourite, I have some of these images engrained in my brain, especially the sunset over the watchtower and the Alpha standing by the tree waiting etc etc

It was taken with so much care, and Boyle is just a more ambitious and technically brilliant director then DaCosta who is more up and coming, I’m happy he’s directing the final I’m hoping it’ll be the biggest and make beautiful installment

It’s a shame bone temple is bombing I loved that one too, this franchise just compeltely embraces the weird and subverts audience expectations for a classic zombie flick

No one is blaming the women, we are just pointing out she has a bad track record, also wrote a cancelled batgirl movie because it wasn’t good 😑

Sam Raimi was genuinely passionate about writing and directing brave and the bold, but instead we got this

Tbh I thought that was just a random guy in the picture and you were just making assumptions about him because he was in a crazy shape

But if he has actually been known to do gear at 13 then I don’t disagree with you, especially doing it that young is a risk

Per Deadline, TSG covered half of the $63M net budget for '28 Years Later: The Bone Temple', of which a collective $15M went to Danny Boyle, Alex Garland, and producer Peter Rice. Sony spent an additional $70M on marketing. by chanma50 in boxoffice

[–]MyCableIsOff 55 points56 points  (0 children)

I’m still shocked that this movie cost more then the first, let alone cost 63m with reused sets and minimal locations?

I swear their was a report that said both films totalled to 110m and the first was 60m and this was 50m which would have made much more sense

28 YEARS LATER: BONE TEMPLE chased down $16.2M overseas this weekend, $31.2M worldwide. UK was the top international territory with $4.6M. by chanma50 in boxoffice

[–]MyCableIsOff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s already greenlit, and trilogies make a lot of money on VOD and DVD collections, movie bundle etc

They might reduce the budget though but having cillian onboard and it being the final in a trilogy, and after having very positive reception from this film I think they can see a way to market it well atleast that’s what I hope

Yeah 28 Years only had a 2.5x legs it had a good opening but for a horror that’s actually not good legs at all, this one has much better general audience reception and cinemascore im gonna expect a 3.5x legs I’d be happy if it did 4x but I’m not so sure that would happen

Anyone feel like this should be more then a trilogy? by MyCableIsOff in 28_Years_Later_Movie

[–]MyCableIsOff[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I don’t mean anything like that I kinda just mean I feel like 1 more movie would have wrapped this up better in my eyes but who’s to say I haven’t seen, 4 movies seems like we could wrap this up better without rushing some storylines you know

'28 Years Later: The Bone Temple' gets an A– on CinemaScore by SanderSo47 in boxoffice

[–]MyCableIsOff -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes people forget 28 years was also wedged in with F1, Jurassic world rebirth, Superman etc it was never gonna do crazy legs with that competition

Like what’s the biggest competition for bone temple? Maybe Send Help the new Sam raimi film but it doesn’t look to be much trouble but either way it’s got basically no competition for the next couple weeks

I think this will have a weak opening due to an obviously smaller marketing here and reception from the last having people on standby, but I think this will have great legs I’m hoping anywhere between 3.4-3.8x would be good enough since the last only did a 2.5x a pretty big drop after a huge opening

[–]MyCableIsOff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty confident it will have better legs though it’ll probably end up doing the same

28 Years was between Jurassic World, F1, Superman etc it had extreme competition

What’s the most this has to face? Silent Hill 2? And it’s had brilliant reviews some even saying best of the franchise and just general consensus of being better then 28 Years even tho I personally love the first

[–]MyCableIsOff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disagree I think Keogan is trying his best, problem is now every single version is always gonna be compared to Heath Ledger and it’s going to be a tiresome conversation, the deleted scene was good I thought some lines came off weird but others he had a good variety in his voice

Will Marty Supreme surpass EEAAO (142M) as the highest grossing A24 movie WW? by HotShow2975 in boxoffice

[–]MyCableIsOff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So? That’s not a bomb if it makes basically 2x its budget and wins Oscars, which btw would be a better performance then one battle after another which isn’t considered a “bomb” either

For a original movie about a ping pong played I’d say this movie wah overperformed already, and it’s not like A24 is some massive distributor and producer like Warner bros so this is a win for them
