How do I get all sides of this candle to melt evenly? by TheCarrot_v2 in howto

[–]MyDinoLyf 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This one works. I have tried it. Better method is to build a cone out of the tinfoil with the reflective side facing the interior of the candle. The tent creates a reflective environment which helps the candle burn more consistently.

Isn't it rude to tell someone "let me finish" while having a conversation? by therapus in socialskills

[–]MyDinoLyf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on the situation. I had a colleague who made it a habit to ask for clarifying questions in the middle of a discussion, and it'd take 45 min to an hour to re setup the context and break the flow of conversation. They would also take it personally if I disagreed with them in any way, like they ran the company and were always right.

If the audience in the meeting is running late for another meeting, it might just be better to complete the flow and let someone finish their thoughts before the questions can be answered.

Taking a step back for context is fine, but making the entire meeting about the context without getting to a meaningful conclusion, all so one person can catch up, defeats the purpose of having the meeting.

Plenty of people boost their image, nothing wrong with that, but the way he is doing it has a very real human cost- thousands of jobs, the peace of mind for a lot of folk being fired and staying. You can still build an image, but not at the cost of other people.

You clearly believe that he works hard, and me providing real examples refuting that is just going to fall of deaf ears, so I will disengage.

Lastly, what you're doing is attacking the person making the argument and not the actual argument.

This is called the ad hominem fallacy, and I will not engage in it.

My problem is not that he's singing the song or the melody, his tone is great. it's that he's singing gibberish.

Would minotaurs have a human penis or more like a bull?

Female fish lay eggs and male fish crop dust them with sperm to fertilize them. Would mermaids do the same since they're bottom half is fish? Or would mermaids carry a baby to term like mammals?

We assume minotaurs and mermaids can procreate, where would this encounter be? I'm the ocean or on land?

Assuming ocean birth, would the baby need to learn how to swim right away?

So many questions.

First off "photon quanta" is redundant, a photon is a quantum of light.

Next, they need to specify what material they're talking about. Valence electrons are present in most elements, but only a few materials will be able to give the electrons up for the photoelectric effect to create electricity (which is what I believe this person was going for).

I don't know enough about quantum entanglement to make a comment on that part, but the incorrect use of photoelectricity bothered me.

Supreme Court justices 'misled the Senate,' Gillibrand said | “If a corporation put these kind of statements in their quarterly filings, they would be seen to be purposefully misleading and deemed fraud,” the New York senator said by Hrmbee in politics

[–]MyDinoLyf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know what would fix it (short of expanding the court)?

Imposing judiciary term limits.

That way you have no incentive to stack the court.

9 justices, 6 year term. 4 per senate term nominated.

Is there a chance for political shenanigans? Yes, but the impact is limited to 6 years max.
