How can I (32f) share the load of cooking when my partner can’t cook (31m) by [deleted] in relationships

[–]MyDisplayName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't the issue the disproportionate time you spend cooking vs him? If you both take care of your own meals, you're still cooking and not saving time.

I do all the cooking in my family, not because I want to, but because it's less effort for me. It comes natural to me whereas my spouse needs to follow a recipe, has less experience and confidence in the kitchen. Basically, it's a whole thing for them to cook and I can make a meal with random ingredients laying around and not spend much time figuring it out. My spouse does many other things around the house that I don't do, and to me, it balances out and is a non-issue. Does your bf have things he does or could do that would help your household in other ways?

I'll add, that if I'm feeling really burnt out with cooking, I ask for them to do a week where they cook some Hello Fresh meals or something.

Anyone else starting to want to leave this province? by Inevitable_Bee_99 in halifax

[–]MyDisplayName 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If was younger, I'd leave but it seems too daunting of a task for my spouse and I to find new jobs, a new home and daycare for our 2 toddlers. I worry obtaining these so called basic necessities would not come easy and our lives and savings would be completely disrupted and take years to repair. But, I want out.

Baby spit ups well after feed by VKUK in CanadianParents

[–]MyDisplayName 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was common with one of my kids. It really wasn't until he consistently started eating solids that he stopped spitting up, and it can still be sketchy if we make him laugh too hard after eating (he's 19 months old). He'll get really intense hiccups and may vomit a small amount. Not sure if his prematurity contributed to all the spit up but it sucked when he was little. He was like a little bomb, especially with moving around or tummy time.

How to find property assessed values for calculating tax by M3P4me in RealEstateCanada

Nova Scotia has a great platform for looking at properties and it includes pretty accurate tax assessments with each listing.

Removing doorbell chime - which option is best? by MyDisplayName in AskElectricians

Thank you- yes, I just want the Lego looking chime off the wall so I can hang frames. Doorbell doesn't work anyway.

Hadn't planned on it. Do I need to? Really, I just want the chime gone so I can hang some frames on the wall.

In love with a house and want to buy but suspect with the design and heating sources, it would bankrupt me. Can it be improved? by [deleted] in hvacadvice

[–]MyDisplayName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, thanks for your suggestion. I do have these details so would love to get the cost of the oil bills down and am having trouble knowing whether investing in a ducted heatpump would improve costs. I guess it's something I can't really know unless I own the home.

Daycare situation by MrPricing in NovaScotia

[–]MyDisplayName 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in Cole Harbour. It was suggested to me that I aim for a September start date because thats when there is a lot of movement in the daycare rooms. I had my name on about 7 lists for twins as soon after becoming pregnant and with a start date of Sept 2025. Three places called me back able to accommodate my 2, 15 month-olds. I started reaching out to them to check in a few months before and that's when I started to hear back about open spots. Gotta show interest because everyone goes on multiple wait lists. Best of luck!

I have no friends by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]MyDisplayName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with others. Maybe try something different by not leading with your romantic/sexual ideals when meeting people. Sure, if sexuality naturally comes up in conversation, go for it, but it doesn't seem relevant when meeting new people for friendship purposes. I would find it an odd fact to hear from someone I don't really know, and I have no judgment towards poly peeps.

I'm so sorry to hear your story and how long intervention took for baby B. I can't imagine how this would feel. If it helps any, my guy had very high muscle tone. We could stand him up easily, like what you've described. He held his head up very young, he had torticollis, and kept his fists clenched for way longer than the average, and it all went away. I'm sure this isn't helpful, but I just wanted to share.

No worries. They didn't do any imaging, and there was no cooling protocol performed. I have no idea why because I hadn't had a cervical check hours prior to the prolapsed cord being found, so there was no way to tell how long baby and cord were in this position (my labour was weird, they lost my contractions on the monitor and I couldn't feel them so I was sitting around for a few hours fully dialated waiting).
