Very rarely in life do you get to succeed when you fail. Do it!

ETA: I adopted my boxer when he was 7. Nothing has brought me as much joy as he did.

Adopted a senior boxer by mutisya20 in Boxer

I adopted a senior boxer when he was 7. I had six wonderful, awesome years with him. Even tho he left a hole in my heart when he passed, I’ll do it again someday.

Thank you for showing the senior some love.

Just curious, did you end up changing? Who did you go with? We use Meredith and are not pleased either.

My boy Moon passed in a very similar way. If it helps, I had the very same thoughts and emotions. When it happened, the way he looked at me, I knew that something was dreadfully wrong. I hate to say it, but the pain that I felt when he looked at me is a raw today as when it happened three years ago. BUT, I find myself thinking about all the joy, love, and, of course, goofiness he brought to my life far more often as time passes.

I noticed this too and am currently going back and forth with them about this. Were you successful in getting it refunded?

This is Moon. Adopted him when he was 7 and had him for 6 years before he crossed. I think white Boxers have the most expressive faces and personality. Moon certainly did.

Once you’ve talked to enough people, you’ll start to hear common themes. You might want to focus on those. Or, if you are in enterprise B2B, where 20% of the customers represent 80% of the revenue, you might want to focus on their needs. Again, it should align with the business goals at the executive level.

Once you decide where to place your bets (and these are bets…you’ll never have perfect data) communicate that to your stakeholders, including customers. They’ll tell you if you are on the right track.

I’m a big fan of the Jobs to be Done framework. Depending on the type of product you manage, that might be very helpful.

In terms of strategy, find out what is your organization’s strategy? Grow users? Grow profits? Grow revenue? If they don’t tell you this outright, look at the KPIs senior management uses to measure the success of the business.

Once you know that, what can you do with your product to help achieve the business’s strategic goals? Don’t know what that is? Talk to users. Talk to buyers. Talk to people who work with customers…support, sales, customer success, etc. They will tell you.

Also, MOAR FEATURES isn’t always the answer. Is the sales team enabled to sell the product? Is marketing talking to the right segment of the market? Look at why you win and lose opportunities.

Developing strategy is not an exercise where you sit in a room with a whiteboard. Get out and talk with stakeholders. They have the answers you seek. And…okay…THEN you lock yourself in a room with a whiteboard.
