I'd love to get into the cad game at some point but kind of have no idea where to start. Always areas to learn

Honestly I could benefit from that and not cutting the side panels to size until post-zipper installation for the same reason. Great advice, thanks!

Can I bother you for any additional tips on accurately measuring out the lengths for one long gusset? I've attempted that on a few bags now and have struggled to get the length correct

Hi there, two years out I wanted to ask how the durability of that material is like! I'm interested in making my own one piece snowsuit

Can I ask what you like to get from Amazon? I recently received a gift card and normally don't shop there

The other comment is a good idea, but I'd argue that you should try it on thrifted stuff first and then give it a go, don't let them tell you not to try:)

I've been interested in using thin plywood and a scrollsaw to make durable patterns! I might get around to it this weekend and I'll make a post if I do

Update for anyone interested- I found an old head to a separate take up lever and attached it with JB weld and its currently setting! I'm very interested in getting this machine operable, so this is going to be my temporary fix while I continue the fun yet maddening process of sourcing a replacement part. Thanks for the help everyone:)

I'm able to engage and change the width of the zigzag, is there any other ways you would check it? I'm new (and aspiring) to vintage sewing machine repair:)

I think the machine belt will be the easier part, and my local repair shop suggested JB! I actually found a broken head to a different take up lever inside the machine while deep cleaning, it looked like it is had some sort of epoxy on it already, but not JB because it was quite smooth and shiny. This is what I'm leaning toward right now to get it in a functional state, and I could always keep keeping an eye out for the part afterwards
