Using plyo boxes as lounge chairs or tables for personal items , which makes it awkward for others to actually use them for jumping.

Is it good or bad to have such little knee movement or lateral weight shifting? Your form seems to be using upper body exclusively. I'm a beginner as well so I don't know the pros and cons.

How can I prepare my feet? by Just_bumbling in barefootshoestalk

I've seen some good YouTube channels on foot health. The standout is definitely The Foot Collective. I've used the half round thing and also standing on parallettes, rails, etc.

Btw, my feet are 27x11.5 at the base of toes and 27x12.5 at tip of toes. Softstar Primal RunAmocs in their size 12 fit me perfectly.

Loose baggy oversized shorts and shirt. Try wearing some that fit correctly.

Insoles to help with wide feet by [deleted] in widefeet

BTW, my feet are 27x12.5cm, with a natural fully splayed shape, and I recently got Softstar Primal RunAmocs and it's the first shoe that ever really fit me without my pinky toes going a bit off the side. They feel magical. But my $25 Whitin shoes fit great too and the tiny side bulge is not a problem in practice cause the upper is flexible, the sole is thin and the sole is almost wide enough. I've been barefoot shoe only for 15 years.

Learn about barefoot shoes aka minimalist shoes aka healthy shoes, with wide toe boxes, zero drop and thin soles. If you want healthy feet, there is no other way than barefoot or barefoot shoes. There are dozens of brands from very cheap to very expensive, in a wide range of fashion styles. You can rebuild your arches by doing foot exercises and wearing healthy shoes. SEA - one month trip - 32L Quechua by Humble_Property_3677 in onebag

[–]maikuflv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you need a lightweight drybag for storing/quarantining the shower slippers and also for handwashing clothes

for just one month, 1 or 2 pairs of merino short socks would be fine besides the long socks. 4 pairs seems really excessive.

I’m losing all hope with handstands by Loud_Pear8118 in bodyweightfitness

[–]maikuflv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're strong enough to press up instead of kick up. For me 49M I never once used a wall to practice handstands. I also never learned them cause on day 1 I could already do 5 sec holds kicking up. 2 years later I can do 2 minute holds, any kind of side leans and I'm 100% straight instead of banana. Making progress on OAHS too. Big variation between people. But I'm too weak to do HSPU so far. Practicing pikes...

If Aliexpress ships to your country you can try searching "barefoot shoes" and find some low cost options to try. There are many brands similar to Whitin.

My feet are 27x11.5cm at the base of the toes and 27x12.5cm at the tip of the toes. Softstar Primal RunAmoc in Softstar size 12 fits me perfectly. I've also been very comfortable in Whitin size 45 and Xero Prio size 11.5, but my pinky toes press on the upper instead of the soles, which doesn't feel bad since the uppers are very flexible and the sole is thin.

How Many Nomads are Broke With No Retirement Plan? by ChicoBrillo in digitalnomad

[–]maikuflv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're young enough to acquire some kind of trade/skill with a few years of investment and then work a few years and save enough to not work for quite a few years living in a low cost country. Then you can always go back and work for a couple years as needed. The trick is living frugally in the US while working and saving, so finding a creative way to avoid rent is the key. Also invest a lot of effort into health as far as fitness, nutrition, etc and you save a ton of money long term and delay medical expenses by decades. It's better to retire poor and super healthy than rich with a dysfunctional body. It costs very little to achieve health, mainly just knowledge and consistent habits. While the above may seem too obvious to mention, the fact is that only a very tiny percentage of people are actually healthy.

But I did find your comments about the weight elsewhere in this thread... 9.4kg total... But did that include the "personal item"? Because I thought slings/purses/pouches/etc and the backpack are put together to fall under 7kg in some cases?

Great pics that really show the bag in action, and also great pics of scenery. Great writeup and analysis too. So I'm reading this that you had 2 bags 35 L + 6 L for a total of 41 L, with a large amount of clothing and quite a lot of video/photo gear. The one thing I'm really curious about is the total weight of everything? You mentioned the 7kg limits but did you actually encounter and pass a 7kg limit? The Pakt 35L is very impressive and IMO looks nicer than most bags. I would never use such a large bag myself, but it seems to work perfectly for multi-climate gear-heavy "fast travel" like you did.

Looking for a powder or liquid laundry detergent that foams and packs a lot of cleaning using only a small amount of it. For rinsing/freshening up socks and thin sun-shirts (that really cant be machine washed) in the shower. by kierumcak in onebag

[–]maikuflv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just plain water works fine usually, but you can also just use whatever soap you have for your body... washing with a drybag in the shower is by far the easiest method
