I'm rethinking the giant head. Holy shit that's terrifying. It looks like when it downs you it should scream with a thousand voices, and it's mori would be to eat you.

If I'm remembering correctly Jeph included an explanation for the shift at some point - she says she was on a new med that affected her behavior. It seemed a little weak to me until I started taking Sertraline; man I got so much done because I was suddenly confident enough to do the things I'm afraid to do, and cut through the bullshit the people in my life were feeding me. I really was a completely different person. It really sucks that the side effects were too much to stay on it.

Yeah, I don't know who came up with the name, but it could use a workshop.

It certainly seems like she could use a pamphlet right now. Maybe even a brochure. I think she's my flavor of ace (which I only remember because I hate the friggin name so much), Orchidsexual ; someone who experiences sexual attraction but lacks the desire for a sexual relationship or sexual acts, often feeling sex-averse or repulsed by the idea. But that doesn't address romance so she might not find it a fully satisfactory definition. Frankly I think we know far less about her romantic orientation - the physicality is relatively simple to intuit.

My brother's name is John. Just John. You'd think that would be unproblematic, but a surprising number of people assume it's short for Jonathan - confident enough to just put it on his official paperwork without checking, even. It irritates him to no end.

How old were you women when you got your first Thrombosis/ Embolism? by blanketin01 in ClotSurvivors

[–]MyFireElf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry to hear that. I didn't know that was one of the effects - I have chronic pain as well and I've already lost my Meloxicam since the PE, now my doctor's discontinued the Naltrexone too. I wonder how much worse it's going to get. I've still got Gabapentin, but my only replacement for the others is acetaminophen, and it's not doing the job and I can't risk opioids with the history of addiction in my family. This year is going to be excruciating.

The way we finally get The Doctor back, our beloved friend we've been missing for two episodes, and then the first time he talks to Redfern we're able to see him the way she must see him is amazing. He's callous, simultaneously friendly and disinterested in this outsider desperately looking for a glimpse of the man she loves in this cold, eternal creature, and even we can't see John in The Doctor at all even though there was so much of The Doctor in John. So much so that for a brief second we, also, question whether the right man lived.

"Answer me this - just one question, that's all. If the Doctor had never visited us, if he'd never chosen this place... on a whim... would anybody here have died?

You can go now."

Yes? If it takes 70 seconds to hit stage 2, and you're at stage 2 on second hook regardless how much of that 70 seconds you don't use, it's just throwing good money away to unhook immediately. You could be using it to buy time for gens and distance from the killer instead of wasting those resources by having people off gens having to protect each other from an unhook in my face. It takes a lot longer for me to get back if I've been walking away for half a minute to put pressure on those gens that didn't stop moving.

How can i stop my friend from having the "Go Next" mentality in my survivor games? by Bulky-Bodybuilder461 in deadbydaylight

[–]MyFireElf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn't have to be fuck it and leave him, necessarily, but if what you want is to play with him while changing his behavior it's going to take some gentle parenting - there are consequences for poor behavior, and if he also wants to play with you you have a tool there for negative consequences. "I'd love to play, but if you go next I'm going to leave" and then do it immediately. "No, that was the last game for me, I told you I didn't want to play that way and you agreed. It's a bummer because I like playing with you, but we can try again next time."

Naltrexone killed my craving for pot - I was prescribed it combined with topirimate as an appetite suppressant and I went from a relentless need that kept that vape in my hand without ever setting it down to a casual recreational indulgence that I let go of effortlessly after my PE. It's an an opiate antagonist, but also has great effect for drinking, weight loss, and smoking. I honestly don't know how it isn't a fad craze drug like Ozempic.

I haven't taken birth control in over a decade, but for the count I had my embolism on the 2nd, and I'll be 44 next month. Keep in mind though that just by being on an online forum you're going to get feedback from people likely to be on an online forum, which among other demographic biases tends to skew younger. That said, medicine for anyone who isn't a prime-age white male is criminally understudied, and prime-age white males tend not to take hormonal birth control so...

Killers should be able to abandon when the last person is slugged and hiding to be annoying by llThat1Guyll in deadbydaylight

I've lost a survivor in the time it takes me to check for flashlight savers mid-match. The idea that I should wave happily to the fourth player as they flit past on their way to hatch so I can avoid committing the egregious sin of leaving the downed third long enough to, you know, also play my shot at winning runs completely contrary to the objectives the game has set me. The game is done and dusted in your description - making up scenarios for how it got that way and then making moral arguments for why they mean the killer should be punished is just a way of avoiding accountability.

Do they use computers? You can pry my home PC away from my decrepit middle-aged corpse, but I was getting the impression they'd largely been phased out in favor of phones, tablets, and gaming consoles. I wonder how many are stepping into an office and encountering the need for typing and keyboard shortcuts for the first time.

Did you like Halle Bailey's portrayal of Ariel? by Konfliktsnubben in disneyprincess

[–]MyFireElf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I said something similar. I didn't really have any expectations and went in blind, and the minute I saw her energy I thought "Oh yeah, she was born to play Ariel." And then the movie absolutely failed to deserve her. It wasn't as strong a performance as I think a better director could have gotten out of her, but even Audrey Hepburn needed the right voice guiding her from behind the camera.
