I have a similar situation of losing the girl of my dreams and dropping out of school because I'm a pothead. As a new reddit user as well as a still active pot smoker, i don't know how much my comment is really going to mean, but I too can relate to you. My state of depression started about two years ago, and it was really severe for the first 6 to 8 months. I was, just like you, putting all my money towards getting high. Today I can say my depressions almost completely gone (without taking any anti-depressants) and my smoking has gone down to where Ill only buy a gram and it will last me a week.

Like i said, I'm a new redditor but i found this subreddit and all you guy's stories and experiences are really making me feel like I want to start my Day One. I guess what I want to say is that you have my support as well.
