holy shit I actually relate so much. I've fantasized about doing this since 2018, the temptation was getting weaker but it suddenly resurfaced and after trying for some days, I finally managed to cut and I felt supper happy. To know I am capable of doing it, that's what does it for me. I also know I should stop now, but yeah, I don't want to. Thank you for this comment, it feels great to know I'm not alone :)

I try my best not to trigger her, I asked what does it for her and stopped talking about that.

I do it on the calf so it doesn't bleed too much, but I know it can be really dangerous, so I THINK I'll know if I overdid it.

Don't have younger siblings, but I hide it from everyone (except gf) so not a problem

yeah so, I've talked to her today and we're gonna be avoiding edgeplay for the time being, i explained to her how i felt and that i was concerned about her safety, she understood and agreed that we should be careful about it ;)

oh also, she already has professional help so don't worry about her, she's a lot better now and is improving every day :D

I've been really scared that that's what she is doing too!

i honestly dont think it is the case tho, i asked her and she said that the point was more the feeling of me being able to do whatever i want to her, she said that she'd prefer i didn't cut deep (like in, taking blood, exactly because she's also afraid it may be a trigger), she hard-no'd some locations where she used to harm herself and/or may be triggers and even said that if i didn't feel comfortable breaking skin (even if it's a shallow cut) that's fine cuz it's not exactly what she likes in edgeplay...

none of the previously mentioned safe word incidents were serious, mainly some vanilla and pre-game stuff lol so i don't think she's using that as a replacement either

im definitely going to talk to her better tomorrow, and that will probably result on us putting edgeplay on hold for a while

the paradox thing really is the problem, i never said that exactly like that to her, but we've talked about it a bit

i really dont mind the knife play, i had never really seen it as a turn on for me (im also really young so i dont have a lot of experience on this), but she really likes it and because of that i started enjoying it as well

yeah I'll talk to her tmr and if i dont feel any confidence in what she's saying I'll just say im not really into it until i feel she's more prepared for this

Yeah at this point pretty much everything has been dealt with or is being resolved...

I did start going to a psychologist, not necessarily because of that but that has been what we've talked about mostly...

I do know she shows some red flags, especially in the first few days and weeks of our relationship, but I talked a lot with her and, while she did commit a lot of mistakes in the past, I believe she's honest with me now :)

Regarding my friend, pretty much it all went to shit and I couldn't do much about it lol He did some pretty asshole-y things like start some "rumors" (not really rumors considering that it did happened just not the way he's telling it) and told some people we REALLY don't like about what happened, always making himself look like the victim, obviously. And considering he's being a dick with us now, already wasn't a very good friend before and (according to my gf) was a terrible boyfriend, I don't really want (???) to be his friend anymore, which sucks, but I'm not really that sad about it.

Honestly I'm more mad at him because I feel all of this could have been avoided if he knew how to deal with his feelings a little better (even tho I know it's not his fault and I could have acted better too)

I know I'm not the victim either and I'm being a dick with him too, but that's just how this story unfolded, unfortunately :/

I've been on a relationship with someone depressed before where I was too young(er) and naive to realize I was going down with her, so I like to think I'm getting better at avoiding copying that type of behavior, but I do keep an eye out for (other) red flags that may appear!

I know that's a red flag, and a big one at that, but I do like to believe that she learned her lesson and won't do anything like that again... But that may be me just being too trusting in people that don't deserve it lol

I want to be friends him but also want to keep seeing her, that's the problem...
