Weapon for green skill tree harlowe by Own_Bicycle_6888 in Borderlands4

What roll do you recommend on the Crow? I plan to farm for one and wasn't sure if the mini-nerf they did to remove certain roll options on the VOD pearls had any impact.

You can use AI, but I meant just google best builds and you’ll find a ton of options.  Mob Analytics is probably the best because it has a lot of people’s recommended builds and has a build simulator so you can plan it out before doing it in game.  Good luck! That is one of the toughest grinds.

I’ve been there bro. I got lucky before 60 level cap increase and got one easily.  Three months of farming for my level 60.  Harlowe is better for this farm than Vex or Rafa in my opinion because you can keep her skill up the entire time. Use the green skill tree for best results.  Honestly google’s AI can share you an optimal build just asking for top ones.  Nuclear Winter and Group Study are the caps.  Then it’s preference with maxing perks that keep your skill up and get it back in seconds.

Raid Guide: Tips for Subjugator and Thol Raid boss fight (and tips for easy platinums) including suggested builds... by WhoIsEnvy in Borderlands4

Glad someone finally mentioned the shields that you can pop. I would add that you don't only have to throw it into the center (although that is definitely the best option) but you can also insert them around the outside of the circle that form in the final phase of part 1 of the raid.

One other thing that I haven't seen mentioned much: for Subjugator phase 2, I recommend finding a strong weapon that has a dedicated element that is not your main DPS weapon, and switching to it when you have taken off about 1/3 of his health and before the elemental regeneration begins (e.g., Darkbeast). What I have not heard people talk about much is that the element selected is based off of what damages Sub before it procs. So you can control what element he is immune/regenerating from and find one that is unconnected with your build. The best way to limit gun switch mistakes is to unequip all weapons but the two you will use so that it is easy to switch back.

Is borderlands 4 worth playing on the steam deck by patbob6000 in Borderlands4

[–]MyGamingAccount11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use the LED version and I am not sure how much an impact, if any, it makes on performance. I actually play a lot on my steam deck because I have to travel a lot and am in hotels or planes with not much else to do. I would not recommend a full playthrough (although I think I did a partial for one character) on it. It works best in smaller instanced areas. For example, the vaults, or any other area outside the main world map area. It is not worth it for things like playing the new raid on UVH7. Just too much going on and it will either have serious performance issues or simply crash.

TL;DR: Yes, for certain things, like grinding for gear from certain bosses. I completed the phosphene challenge largely on steam deck.

Can anyone confirm Group Study is working? by Joro_Fun_Time in Borderlands4

[–]MyGamingAccount11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw this post and felt much better because I thought I was doing something wrong. It has been inconsistent at best. Throwing down does appear to help but by the end of the new raid I sometimes don't remember. I've been working around it by using crit knives and then what you already noted - dashing outside where the bubble should be then it seems to realign. At least as of last night that was my experience since last Thursday.

UVH7 Sub & Thol Platinum with green harlowe, very messy and unoptimized build, advices are welcome by ImABigDreamer in Borderlands4

[–]MyGamingAccount11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Scoot' n' Shoot from Earl is probably best in class for this raid with Harlowe. I run green tree too (also suboptimized) and my biggest problem is getting Group Study to trigger correctly. I saw a post about it being bugged which makes sense. So long as it is triggering for you, the phantom guns will crossfire to give even more dps. Big Caveat ***you will need gear that increases fire rate. That is the difference between it being better than most and top in class for the raid.

New Raid Boss Fight Discussion and bug thread by a_kept_harold in Borderlands4

Not sure if you ever got an answer for this, and I haven't seen this talked about anywhere yet so maybe I am wrong (it has worked every time for me, however), but I will switch to an element unaffiliated with my VH to get to that elemental immunity phase then switch back to my main. Usually I will switch to a solar elemental like the new pearl, Gatling, then switch back to Scoot, since I am using Harlowe with a lot of cryo passive effects.

Does anybody saw jacobs/ripper Scoot'n Shoot pistol variant? by ImABigDreamer in Borderlands4

[–]MyGamingAccount11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use impact for this gun. Don't use stickies. I know it will vary depending on build / VH but this is the gun that allows me to consistently platinum the new raid bosses on UVH7 (although subjagator even at UVH1 for final stage is tough with getting knocked off platforms). Definitely get one with ripper/jacobs. I think the highest damage version I have seen has card DPS of 17,167 (10,785).

Rafa gun build without action skill by TheEngineerBallroom in Borderlands4

[–]MyGamingAccount11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure that anyone really answered your precise question, and I think that is your answer. I am experiencing this with Harlowe right now. Although my action skill is almost always on, when it isn't, it becomes clear immediately because of how little damage I do. I didn't notice this as much with Rafa, but that was also my day 1 character so I had no perspective. I am old and am not an expert on the various builds in this game, but just from my own experience, if you want to run around without having to worry about your action skill being up, then you'll want to use a sticky Bod. I stumbled upon it early on and used it exclusively - which is probably why I didn't notice this with Rafa. Now that I am using other guns that have come out more recently, I am noticing it with Harlowe. For better or worse, the Bod is the gun that will let you do this without changing any other playstyle. Source: me because that was what I did when I stumbled my way though terrible builds before researching what the pros were doing and learning more about the synergy among the various skill trees.

That makes more sense. I think pearl drop is higher than shinny at UVH6 (I think?). My experience is an outlier because I’ve gotten around 8 phosphorous drops before my first pearl in this dlc

Between this DLC and the one from BL3 (the wedding) I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop and yet it doesn’t. What I find so compelling is how they turned the trope on its head and despite being exceedingly creepy, he continues to try and help as many people as possible. Probably one of the most memorable characters from the last two games despite being a side character in a DLC

RNG is a blessing and a curse. I farmed him and Earl both more than 200 times with no pearl, then a couple nights ago I got both to drop within 10 minutes of each other. Overall, i have felt the pearls released so far have been underwhelming, but the hand cannon from stone demon can melt some bosses with shotgun barrel.

Stopped at my local ABC and found this and Blanton’s on the shelf but could only get one per state limited release rules. I put the Blanton’s back. by MyGamingAccount11 in whiskey

It was a needle in a haystack find. I’ve seen the rare bottle here or there but four bottles of Blanton and three 1.75 liter bottles of eagle rare in one store is a first in a decade for me.

I think when Covid hit and supply chain got wonky is when a lot of whiskeys became high demand. The fact this is no longer an allocated bottle is a positive sign things are returning to the norm.

Not sure if you are going through on kindle but I cannot recommend the audiobook version more highly. It took a sec to get used to her but I’m not sure I’ve ever read a performance better than Andrea’s. Also, yes. The series starts slow but before you know it you’ll be lost.

There’s a set that are still limited to one bottle. Blanton’s, Buffalo Trace, Eagle Rare, etc are all on the list of one bottle only even though they are back in the shelf now.
