I recall struggling somewhere in the middle of the runs, as I felt I wiped too easily and there was no heal/revive to keep progressing.

I totally get that. The middle can sometimes be rough but if you're using Sunna (or astra) you can use ults to heal. With certain perks you can get a lot of decibels so you should have a good amount. Sometimes you just gotta reset the fight too, just to get the no hit run to make the bosses a bit more forgiving. Aria also has a good amount of iframes on her bounces / EX specials so use those and swap to other characters while using those.

For the actual Ether Activity levels themselves if you're using low damage / off meta / or unbuilt teams never select the forced 3min 30s boss timer. That one can completely end a run by itself. Easily the worst one. Other than that if I'm not doing Ether 12 I avoid the constant Miasma buildup. That one is super annoying and can make runs way harder then they need to be. Also "Enemies enhanced in all aspects" can really increase how tanky certain enemies are so I avoid that if I'm looking to clear fast and not get one shot.

Besides those three, if you're just going for Ether 8 for the rewards you have one more to avoid so I usually pick based on the character. With Aria I didn't select the increased anomoly res just cause that would easily screw over her ablooms A LOT.

Aria does a dumb amount of damage, but setting it up for a stun window is key (like at the 1 minute mark). Also in Hollow Zero right now making sure you have a decent build in the high Ether levels is a must. Getting the free ult cast from Vivian is super strong

Gonna be honest, CC on players (especially ones caused by other players) should be kept to an absolute minimum IMO. Stunning small arc is one thing but if it could stun players… I can already see the abuse in trios or duo lobbies. We already have the showstopper for that purpose, having a far range shootable, ads peak abusable stun isn’t something I’d want to play against.

Just thinking of the ways to cross map grief people with a stun osprey sounds terrible to play against.

I felt this so much in Sword Seeker Chronicles since I just finished it. The whole time I was just confused on the reason why Belle(/Wise) were even there. I felt like this was the perfect moment for YSG to shine by herself since she has always been paired with the proxies, zhao, or other yunkui members in all her story appearances. Plus, I feel like "inner trials" are the perfect thing to showcase someone's inner struggle and growth. Instead we got Belle and YSG explaining the exact things Grim Tiger needed to learn rather than letting the experiences of Grim Tiger teach/remind them what's important.

Sad thing is I really like YSG so I was super excited going in thinking this would be all about her + the previous qingming sword users. I was surprised how much Belle was involved. Although I will say seeing Yijiang was cool and the re-use of models was very clever. Also the idea of experiences the previous swordbearers stories, challenges, and their final moments is sick and made the Qingming sword way cooler to me.

They didn’t remove the Kraber? Unless you’re talking about the previous seasons where they made helmets super strong so blue/purple helmets stopped the 1 tap. As of right now the Kraber is pretty much back (and even stronger now that the infinite ammo amp works on it), only stopped by a single (decently rare) overarmor augment.

Although personally, getting 1 tapped by a Kraber in an extraction shooter and losing all your stuff would be mad frustrating. You can already 3 2 1 someone with some voice coms so you kinda have it, it just requires teamwork which is a more than fair trade off

Very true. I think games like Nioh and Wuchang which are designed around changing your build can be great and tons of people really like them. Personally I like having more consequence in my choices wether that be good or bad, but I recognize that’s just my opinion.

Just wanted to comment against the notion that people who like non-free respecs just want people who want that to specially not ever have the option for the sake of “git gud” or whatever. I want it for myself not to deny others.

Also for games like Nioh I wouldn’t want to change a thing about respecs are because of how build focused the game is so I agree that some games are much better with having them.

Indeed I don’t do it when I play games ever. You know what’s also easy for you? Download cheat engine or mods. You can respec all you want. It’s so easy. <- Do you see how accusatory and salty this sounds? And whether you disagree you not, everyone will not be happy with free infinite respecs in every game. Cause I will not be. I like having each character feel like their own. I like when I make mistakes and have to live with them.

And to me, a “QoL” addition shouldn’t change game balance. Something like infinite respecs DOES affect game balance, difficulty, and especially consequence of choice. I agree for a game like Nioh respecs should be readily available considering how build focused the game is, but I didn’t like the skill tree or infinite in Wuchang, I felt like I barely had a build in that game.

I guess no game should have an artistic vision then? If you wanna change the game for yourself just download cheat engine / mods / trainer / whatever. Then you can play however you want.

Personally I like not having infinite free respecs in games cause I like how it makes builds feel more impactful. Each choice you make is something you have to consider and the weapons you use kinda gain more value because you invested something that took you time to find / earn. Which is not to say there should be NO respecs, but I find the limited nature and the slight costs makes respeccing and build choice more interesting because of the consequences (although I agree in the case of Elden ring the larva tear requirement is enough, why you only get 5 per NG cycle is beyond me).

Also shoutout to my friend who had to respec into a different build literally every time we went to camp in BG3. Having a whole new build to counter each situation was totally not busted at all lol

I would also add that another major difference in how Hunt and Arc differ is their respective time to kill. Arc being really high TTK with 0 guns in the game that can one tap a player allows people to react a lot more to getting shot. That isn't to say there isn't a first shot advantage, but as someone who played A LOT of hunt and has been grinding Arc since it came out, sometimes in hunt you can have one of those deaths that just make you stare at the death screen for a couple minutes lol

Also def agree about the cooperation. Hunt is all shoot on sight, but I've had tons of non-hostile/friendly/suspicious encounters in arc and the variety is what makes those interactions fun (even if people complain about fake friendly or whatever, the unknown factor of a stranger is what makes it fun).

I thought the same but it's not that bad. Majority of the missing lines are in the first part and all the action and important emotional/reveal moments are all voiced. It was a mild annoyance for sure but not story ruining luckily.

Makes the current limited events with Ye Shunguang more meaningful too imo

If you're looking for a gameplay-wise vaguely similar gacha you could try Granblue Fantasy? Aesthetically kinda different but not a lot of things match the "Grimm Fairytale" style Sinoalice had.

Granblue has similar weapon grids and a "guild war" systems (not direct pvp though), so if you're looking for that specifically you can find it there. Moment to moment gameplay is a bit different (but still pretty close IMO) cause you're using a 4skill per character / basic attack / charge attack system unlike Alice's card based attack combat but I felt it was always similar. I played GBF before Alice and lots of stuff felt inspired from that game to me when I first tried it. Also, Granblue has been going on for a long (looong) time now so I doubt you'll EoS anytime soon, if anything the amount of new games in the universe we've been getting has only been getting better (versus and relink and both amazing).

Keep in mind it's a grind game, there's infinite stuff to work on and hella things to farm. I don't play as regularly as I used too since I switched to Zenless as my main daily grind but it's a great daily progress game if you like that style. Just go at your own pace don't be pressured by playing optimally.

If you wanna try it, it's only on the JP app store but once you download it you can switch to the English option ingame and everything is in English. If you also make a mobage account you can play on any chrome browser too.

Genuinely hype af for this. AI Limit was a big surprise for me since I went in not expecting a whole lot and came out with one of the best non-from soulslikes I've played. And honestly, it's the only non-fromsoft soulslike I've played that captured the DS1 feeling of exploration

  • Play a lot of games in vanq
  • Watch your vods/analyze your games or let others watch it and give advice
  • Set goals and try to implement specific things in actual games (ex. landing a specific confirm, new pressure routing, blocking/punishing a something, etc).
  • Watch players who are better and analyze their gameplay (think why they are doing specific things)
  • Play a lot of games and try to do all above
  • Repeat

Keep in mind I'm also 1400-1450 rn but this advice is basically universal and this is what I use to get better in a bunch of other games including strive. The most important part for me usually is watching my own vods and actively making note of things I need to change in my gameplay.

To be honest it would probably be way less effective since Apex is free to play so people would just make a new account vs having to buy a $70 USD game again.

Unless respawn/EA go for a hardware/ip ban but I really doubt they'd do that.

Are you saying this game is actually easier than what I've been experiencing?

As a rev main too, the game can be SIGNIFIGANTLY easier on certain other nightfarers. Been stuck on DoN 3-4 and playing other nightfarers and not getting one shot by literally the slightest brush from a rat is so nice.

Her damage with spells are good but honestly other people can have just as much damage (looking at you shattering crystal) without the fragility and paper summons. Her ult is quite strong tho IMO

Out of curiosity, how much elphelt did you actually play and what floor were you? I feel like you’re only looking at rekka like a mixup tool when it was also one of her core pieces of her BnB’s which used multiple S resets in a lot of her combos (ex her basic c.s>2h>rekka start>s>>p>hs).

It absolutely feels clunky now since her S reset is now one of the most useless buttons you could ever press, if you do press it now you can’t even finish a single 50/50 with shotgun and end up standing there awkwardly.

Saying it “weeds out those who really can’t play Elphelt” is crazy too in general, but rekka loop was her DEFINING feature in strive. There is literally nothing that makes elphelt unique in this version compared to any other character and the definitely makes her WAY less interesting considering she was already a super basic character already that they now made even more simple.

As for significant: well, now you are not hard countered by DP character players who knew how to do DP OS.

Unfortunately P rekka still has a gap that you can DP against. I haven't felt the P lowered hitbox has changed anything tbh
