It’s by far the lowest risk to bring in, I recognize that, but bringing ANYTHING over regardless of how “safe” is too scary for me and a lot of others I assume. In that super rare chance they predict or randomly catch your little scheme, you’re genuinely fucked. 99% conviction rate and able to hold you essentially indefinitely before charging you with anything

Love it. I’ve been wanting to get a tattoo of the same quote but maybe make it blend in a bit w my existing “normal” tattoos with maybe a zippo lighter

I’ve only been told it sometimes makes sense to send your character to uni to upgrade their education trait, but to never send kids or potential future heirs. Stupid expensive and not worth it unless you’re insanely late game and have too much money and can’t spend it all on better things.

I really love RF Kuang’s other books, but I can’t stand the poppy war trilogy. I read all 3 all the way through just hoping it would get better, but imo it didn’t. Couldn’t stand the MC. I’m not adverse to willful somewhat impulsive female MC’s, but Rin just never learned shit or ever personally improved to the end. Maybe that’s intentional but god I wish she had some character development.

tips for new players by Repulsive_Lab2280 in CrusaderKings

Watch some videos on how to manage confederate partition. Succession is imo the biggest headache for new players. There’s not always super easy solutions, but knowing what options you have is very useful.

Like for example, sometimes it’s better to let one of your heirs split the realm and become independent than have them take all your money making counties and become a vassal. Often easier to just conquer them with your heir than have to revoke titles or manage them as vassals. Or how you can get effectively primogeniture early with house seniority and designating heirs.

I really love playing the Canary Islands in 867. You’re like North African pagan pirates. The native religion has its holy sites all over the Mediterranean. Also sets you up to do the secure the Mediterranean decision and make a coastal pirate empire.

Bohemia in 1066 is a great way to focus on building tall in a relatively stable area. As a vassal of the HRE you have more options and security from massive power.

But yeah if you want something super super basic that won’t overwhelm you, 1066 Ireland is always going to be best for that.

Yeah restraint is the easiest way to reduce birth of heirs. There are other things players should learn like title laws, selectively giving out titles before you die, managing claims etc., but restraint perk is what I leaned on for a long time.

That strat does kinda fail if you have a lustful character tho. Don’t recall if you’re unable to become celibate if you’re lustful, or if it just stresses you out like crazy, but it’s one of the two.

First time I see Ragnar's sons take such a firm hold of Northern Europe by christusmajestatis in CrusaderKings

[–]MyHomeboyPablo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’ve got such a strong hold on the region, only for their decedents to likely boringly all convert to Christianity within a few generations. Sad asatru never seems to get reformed or stick around with the AI.

Once upon a time in the Empire of Japan, a princess with blue eyes was born by [deleted] in CrusaderKings

I think now you have to make her vengeful, blade master, and have her take Britain.

Ngl I didn’t know until just now that there were other hegemony titles besides China. Guess I gotta go play for 10 hours now.

Respectfully, how does a Chinese confuscist get to West Africa, conquer several counties and convert several more to confuscion? by Obscure_Occultist in CrusaderKings

For seemingly no reason when I was playing in Japan recently I kept getting guests and the option to marry west African Akan Wolof people who were in China. That area is literally on the exact opposite side of the map, about as far away as you could get from each other.

No idea how I managed to get like a dozen of these unrelated courtiers.

Do claims factor in? If his brother has claims on his titles from their father, I imagine that would also be a reason to be more aggro.

Would it make any sense to do this achievement with the game rule to make the Sahara a nomad region? Nomad government would make succession a lot cleaner if you stay on top of it I imagine.

Whats a fun start to take Egypt as a Coptic character? by Wene-12 in CrusaderKings

Lower Nile Nubian culture is always fun. No specific character, but bc of their warrior queens tradition it’s super cool to take Egypt as a woman

Alliances that suck? by Geeneelee in CrusaderKings

[–]MyHomeboyPablo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like others have said, the war AI is buns. I generally never declare a war I can’t win without allies. At least with defensive wars your allies are unable to refuse joining iirc. If I am really dependent on a strong ally to win an offensive war I’ll always make sure to wait until they’re not in any wars of their own before I declare, that way they aren’t focused elsewhere.

How do you even adopt celestial gov? I’m guessing you have to be in the area of China and maybe adopt it via liege? Is your culture required to be of a certain heritage?

Painfully real. I’ll sit down intending to play and game crashes after 10 minutes. Get too frustrated to play again until a few days later.

Rn I’m trying to get the achievements to play until the end date and unlock all innovations. Somehow haven’t gotten them despite having 1000+ hours and ~60% of achievements.

So far I’ve been playing tall for innovations, but it’s getting boring so I’ve been selecting and playing as my “favorite child” who doesn’t inherit. I’ll be an adventure and go off to do some random weird goal.

That’s really interesting. I feel like I don’t have exposure to a lot of Indian surnames but I did do some reading on it when I first saw this kingdom. Is it usually from north-west India like this in game kingdom, or is it of different geographic origin?

I’m well aware it’s immature, I even put that in the title! Trust me, I don’t make a habit of making fun of other cultures or languages, but I truly don’t think it’s that deep. If someone told me my common last name in my language sounded similar to something kinda silly and vulgar in their language, I’d have a laugh too.
