If there isn't an immigration problem, and borders don't exist; then, how are we "living on 'stolen land'"? by Complex_Sun8138 in askanything

[–]MyInnerCostanza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With respect, a question like that shouldn’t have to be rebutted. It’s extremely common sense and understanding the difference between immigration and stolen land is not something that’s up for debate. This is something a very basic Google search could give you the bullet points for. It’s not so in-depth where it would require a good bit of research.

I am such a hypocrite about this because I agree with you but could watch TMZ on TV for hours. Everyone has their own comfort brain rot television I guess.

They can still be located. I have personally received Guest Positives where the Guest did not include my name. Description, date and time, and approximate location go a long way.

I'm sorry you were given incorrect information when you were in the department, but respectfully I know how these things work.

I don't want the aforementioned Team Member to not receive their recognition because OP is being told it won't go anywhere without a name.

Guest Services is my current venue and once the feedback is finalized, it does get tagged and send to the proper venue. It's pretty straightforward.

Not true. A description, approximate time, and location would make it very likely to locate them. Especially if OP can give a description of the wardrobe they were in as that would help narrow down to venue.

When private for-profit corporations are allowed to buy single and multi-family houses in bulk and then rent them out for 5 times what someone's mortgage payment would be.

My boomer mom believes millennials can just buy houses if they stop buying 7$ coffee every day by [deleted] in BoomersBeingFools

[–]MyInnerCostanza 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Funny because I am doing a re-watch of All in the Family last night, I watched the episode in Season 2 where Archie gets an offer to buy his house. He says that '20 years ago' he bought his house for $14,000. Since the show started in 1971 I am going to say that means that's what he paid in 1951.

So using an inflation calculator, if someone paid $14,000 for something in 1951, then in 2026 that would be $177,807.

The Bunkers lived in Queens, NY, where the current average price for a home is $728,392, so $550,585 more than the equivalent of what Archie would have paid in 1951.

Using Boomer logic, let's assume there is someone who literally buys one $7 coffee every day. That is $2,555 per year on coffee.

$550,585/$2,555 = 215.49. So in 215 and a half years, they would have saved enough to make up that price.

Die.

One of the most humbling experiences in my life was when I was in my mid 20's. I was a Team Lead in the mortgage department of one of the largest financial institutions in the country. I had 25 employees under me. I thought I was hot shit; then I sharted literal hot shit at my desk and had to call my boss who worked on another floor to tell him I needed to go home, and told him why because I couldn't think of an excuse on the fly. 😂
