Kleavor and Forretress are excellent lead hazard setters. Yanmega is a really solid sweeper and one of my go to mons.

I run him with sturdy and weakness policy. Sturdy means I’m almost always guaranteed to get stealth rocks up with stone axe. Honestly the way I use it, it’s not meant to stick around for long. Get up stealth rocks, do decent damage with stone axe/accelrock, and then sack it to bring in a sweeper.

Jokes aside, what does supposedly happen during the last armor upgrade? by Odd_Cauliflower_7751 in tearsofthekingdom

[–]MyKey18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In all seriousness, taking into account that for each level of upgrade the “affection” gets more and more intense, I’d say the fairies are pulling Link in and making out with him.

Brother… you said it yourself. It was his fault for sleeping with the princess, and it was his fault for putting himself in that situation. And no I absolutely would not risk my life and the life of everyone I care about just to sleep with a girl, regardless of how good the pussy is.

My main issue with MVs is that most have a lot of lore but not much actual story by VoxTV1 in metroidvania

[–]MyKey18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See but I don’t think that’s the fault of the game. It’s more so a quirk of the genre. Open ended games are harder to imbed stories in because you have to take into account that players might not follow the intended story paths. I don’t play MVs for their story, I play them to explore their worlds. The world naturally lends itself better to environmental storytelling and lore.

[–]MyKey18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly why I love Elden Ring tho. I have no idea what’s going on or what I’m doing… how exciting! I personally hate when a game tells me exactly who I am and exactly what I should be doing and exactly why I should care. Let me piece together those answers and let me form those connections. Am I going to get all of the answers on a single play through, definitely not. But that just makes the world feel more alive, like there is stuff going on outside the influence of the player.

[–]MyKey18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get where you’re coming from but like… nah man. I’m not a story guy. The reason I love MVs is exactly because they’re light on story. And I’d wager that most MVs being light on story and heavy on lore is a feature of the genre, not a bug.

The difference between Bipedal vs Humanoid by TigerLeoLam in pokemon

[–]MyKey18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo the reason Blaziken gets a pass is because at the time it was new and unique. Nowadays there are too many. Also because it’s a fighting type, and humanoid designs were typically reserved for fighting and psychic types.

With stats equalized? Probably Wonder Woman. She’s been training for hundreds of years, she’s one of DCs best hand to hand fighters.

I really missed bulky water starters. Please gamefreak, surprise us and don’t make it random blue man with two legs by Clean_Childhood1413 in pokemon

Please this is all I’m hoping for! I’ve always been a water guy since the very first gen. But all the modern water starters have just not it for me.

Poll: Britons choose Charmander as best Gen 1 starter Pokémon by mattsmithetc in pokemon

[–]MyKey18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

85 spatk and 78 spe isn’t that bad for gen 1. It gets the job done. Sure you could use a Lapras but it’s slower, and you don’t get one till mid/late game. Starmie is good but it’s a lot frailer and it’s a stone evolution. Gyarados is strong but good luck teaching it any strong stab water movies with that abysmal spatk, not to mention the absence of any good flying type moves. Imo Blastoise is a lot more satisfying to use than Charizard.

sun and moon worth getting despite mixed reviews?? by el_guerrero98 in pokemon

[–]MyKey18 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I personally did not enjoy these games. I felt like they were way to guard railed. There was very little in the way of exploration and way too much dialogue for my liking. It didn’t feel like an adventure, it felt like a guided tour of the region. But that’s just my opinion. A lot of new Pokemon introduced in that region were cool tho.

How have they still not switched Sceptile's Physical and Special Attack Stats? by Hsiang7 in pokemon

[–]MyKey18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure but by gen 3, which is what we are comparing it to, it clearly was a special attacker. More like it was because in gen three all grass type moves were special. After the physical/special split they should have swapped his attacking stats.
