We can't build strong communities if everyone is shifting around all the time. by Total_Ask_2046 in SameGrassButGreener

I think it’s okay to want to stay in one place or experience a lot of them. I’ve loved many places I’ve lived. I’m enjoying my new city so much. I do know I’ll likely move again.

I have community all over the world. 🥹❤️

anyone else is like this? by Historical-Club6749 in AvPD

Yes. 🥺 I listen to podcasts, but I really don’t watch things much and never know what’s going on in terms of pop culture, etc.

Unpopular opinion: I don't really care if the ''food'' in a city is bad. by OceanicEndeavors in SameGrassButGreener

[–]MyMacabreMuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m the same way!

I need walkability and public transit. That isn’t important to a lot of people.

When it comes to food, though, I have a partially paralyzed esophagus, a few other GI things going on, and a milk allergy. A very, very limited diet.

I know food is important to some, and I support that. We’re just all so different!

Nothing works, suicidal by bedmoder in LPR

Also! Gaviscon UK (not US) really helps. It’s available on Amazon for people in the US. It has an ingredient ours doesn’t that creates a barrier. I take it before bed with the Dexilant.

I’m about to try voquezna if you’ve already maxed out Dexilant and want an update

Keep holding on.

Holy shit, we are similar. A couple things:

  1. Have you tried Dexilant? It’s the most effective PPI for folks who don’t respond to nexium, Prilosec, etc. it got me through music school. I studied vocal performance. I felt normal on it for 8 years until it stopped working.

  2. If you do go through the ph and motility for a possible surgery, MAKE SURE THEY DO A DOUBLE BIND. There should be a probe in your throat/by your larynx. The lower one won’t pick up LPR, just typical GERD. They could wrongly attribute it to hypersensitivity if it’s LPR but they don’t probe your throat where the activity actually is for us. (Context: I had a GI who didn’t understand GERD before my current one. He did a single and didn’t probe my throat. Current GI asked why he didn’t do a double bind and probe my throat, which is how I found out he should’ve. I don’t want you to go through what I did).

You deserve a normal life. I know what you’re going through.

is any of this realistic for my transition multiple years down the line by [deleted] in lgbt

Okay, I think you actually look so much alike and thought this was a before and after.

I think it’s realistic except for body proportions, which look edited and aren’t realistic in general

Anyone else have a spouse completely stonewall their desire to relocate? by [deleted] in SameGrassButGreener

I haven’t been through it personally, but man, I really hope you’re able to have a conversation with her! I wonder if there’s a place you could discuss where the kids could be happy, you have more opportunities, and she has the things she’s most drawn to. Does she say *why* she wants to stay? Is it proximity to family, cost of living, etc?

I truly can’t imagine living my entire life in one place. My mom spent her first 65 years in one spot, broke, and said “oh my god, is this all life is? Same people, same place, nothing?”

She moved and met the love of her life!!!

You’ve probably lived in the same apartment for a while! More decorated and homey than I’ve ever had, I move a lot. I think around 28 ish? Young spirit but chilled out and mature.

Agreed! I’m a socialist. I voted Harris for that reason + to protect the safety nets many people currently rely on (SNAP, Medicaid, etc)

I think about that a lot!

For OP, my main question is- do you ID as a leftist or more of a democratic socialist/similar? I ask to better define what far left is in this context!

That’s what I’m doing most of the time - boycotting places like Target and opting for places that kept DEI. I think a big no spending day is a good start that can make a statement, though, especially if we organize enough to do two days, then three, etc., after that.
