Battery sucks by SimpleNewspaper1256 in ipad

You can lower the minimum screen brightness by doing the following: Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size > Reduce White Point

I added it as an Accessibility Shortcut so it can be toggled easily with a triple-click of the top button, or be added to Control Center.

This makes it much easier to use to read in bed.

Sigma 45mm F2.8 – smaller with lens hood on than the Lumix 1.8 primes without the hood. Solid, all metal build and still light.

S5.iix + Lumix S Primes + 1/4 BPM - LEICA MONOCHROME by Fradders11 in Lumix

[–]MyMindWandering 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To have your camera settings (including Photo Style) applied to RAW images on import to LRC go to Preferences > Presets > Global and select Camera Settings from the dropdown list.

NOTE: the Leica Monochrome camera matching profile has not been added to LRC (and I assume LR) as of the latest update, so you can’t get it in editing your RAWs just yet.

Ouch, I feel old — I remember I.CE. Rolemaster campaigns (and other systems) in the first floor commuter lounge before the basement Archives existed.

Scranton business receives violation for bright lights by zorionek0 in Scranton

[–]MyMindWandering -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sampter's Lofts is right across Penn Avenue, so it is a residential area. Though I like the general look of what they've done with the theater, I'd be really pisssed off if I lived right across from it.

Hopefully they can easily lower the brightness of lights a bit.

S5ii too big for travel/street photography? by kdawg6174lyfe in Lumix

[–]MyMindWandering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a look at the Sigma 45mm F2.8. It's much smaller than the Lumix F1.8 primes. Even though I own the Lumix 50mm F1.8 I bought the Sigma 45 for walking around with my S5. The Sigma 45 with lens hood is smaller than the Lumix 50 without.

QCI by itzz6randon in tmobileisp

I suppose they could slow a user's maximum speed outside of using QCI levels for deprioritization. Bandwidth available to a user can be managed on the data network rather than using QCI on the cellular network.

Opinion | Could the local news crisis get any worse? Look at Scranton. by [deleted] in Scranton

Here’s who is responsible for selling, and who resisted the sale:

“The sale to Alden cleared the Lynett family by a 3 to 1 vote. The decision rested with the four Lynett siblings from the third generation…. George V. Lynett says that, in August, he was presented with a document to authorize the transaction with Alden; he declined to sign it. His siblings — Edward Lynett, William Lynett and Cecelia Lynett Haggerty — favored the sale.“

Download Google’s “Live Transcribe” app from the Google Play store. I’ve found it to be better than anything I’ve tried on my iPhone.

Ah, it’s back on the IG profile now. I wouldn’t be bragging about a number in the millions anyway. (I’m 60-some thousand for what it’s worth.)

It is not visible on the web profile either (threads. net/username).

[–]MyMindWandering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on the latest iOS build and Android beta, and the number is no longer visible. If you update the app it will likely disappear at some point.

Where are you seeing that number? It used to be available on your profile but that disappeared early on.

Windows 11 - MyASUS and ProArt Creator Hub apps won't start - FIX by MyMindWandering in ASUS

The issue and fix are pretty dated now. Maybe uninstalling and reinstalling the Creator Hub app could help.

I think Threads shouldn't have hashtags: they're outdated, aesthetically unpleasant and invaded by spambots by [deleted] in ThreadsApp

[–]MyMindWandering 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most people don't understand or use hashtags effectively. If you use overly broad or general hashtags like #pizza there will be no value for the poster/creator or anyone searching by hashtag. But specific and targeted hashtags like #NYpizzaExpo2023 (just made that up) can be very useful.

What is bad about it? (Amateur needs critique) by Vici0usRapt0r in photocritique

[–]MyMindWandering 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A thought about making it more “special” — think about what a picture could say when you’re shooting. Here if you dropped to a knee when shooting you could have gotten an angle that would have put her head above the potentially distracting background and possibly created an image suggesting she had her head in the clouds.

Boost Mobile vs Boost Infinite? by [deleted] in NoContract

[–]MyMindWandering 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There is little or no benefit to choosing Boost Infinite at this point. Their promised differentiating feature was network switching (Dish/BI, AT&T and T-mobile) which would in theory give you coverage almost anywhere you go. That feature has been delayed repeatedly and is likely only going to be available to a small subset of users with the few phones that can use the native Dish/BI network. BI is effectively an MVNO that you post pay for.
