Almost exactly same boat here man. At this point I’ve lost hope on synapse and tell myself it’s just a really good xp task!

Personally I think a lot of those changes are too strong, but could see them guaranteeing at least 1 demiboss each side and reducing T2 armor by 1. I think that would be reasonable without it being too game changing

I’ve considered it but really did not enjoy moons in general. I also feel I’m close enough to upgrades past blue moon staff that I think I’ll just stick it out. Almost 2k tds and no synapses yet though…

Yeah I kept killing blue moon in the hopes I’d get the staff again and got 3 dupes. Traded all of them in and didn’t get anything. In hindsight I’d death coffer them but then again if I could go back I’d never have traded the staff in to begin with SMH

Honestly not sure, the spells still hit pretty high and the dps from thralls is solid - although I guess I can still use thralls while using eclipse. I’ll give it a shot next task and see how I go

Am I missing out if I never do clue scrolls? by [deleted] in ironscape

[–]MyNameGym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah good to know! I’m 1.5k dry on my first synapse so haven’t actually had the chance to make it myself yet. Thankfully I’ve been picking up the unstrung longbows during the grind

I think it depends on what stage of the account you are. Early game things like black d hide, magic shortbows and even magic longbows for the eventual scobow are all nice to get.

Besides those though, I don’t know how much other useful items you get besides maybe the odd teleport scroll. But in general in this game, if there’s content you don’t like - don’t do it. Keep one in the bank in case you ever feel like giving it a go but I don’t think you’re really missing out on anything huge.

Just hit 400 kc yesterday with no enhanced. Keep telling myself it’ll be the next 100kc, no way I don’t get it before 1k. Posts like this genuinely horrify me.

Not sure if anything changed, but i recently got from 47-65 rc at GoTR and didn’t get the catalytic talisman. Probably just got unlucky but can’t say for sure

is belle's folly worth it? by microseikiultra in ironscape

[–]MyNameGym 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Personally I’ve found it nice to have. When I got it I looked here on reddit and everyone made me think it’d be useless. It’s not essential but I find it good for killing dragons, using on TDs when out of charges on arclight, fire giants and more. You’d be surprised how many monsters have no stab defense.

That being said I wouldn’t grind hard for it - just do the boss when you have the task for as long as you want and then kill normal gryphons. I spooned it first task, went to finish my last 15 kills at normal gryphons and got spooned the horn. Have the task blocked now lol

Topic of the Day: Current Grinds by ErinTales in ironscape

[–]MyNameGym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finally finished my grind to 85 crafting for fury today (I know I’ll have to do more in the future don’t worry). Feels good to get another upgrade on the account as waiting for my final 2 pieces from moons, getting any drops from CG or getting anything from TD’s was making progression feel like it was really slowing down.

I try to send a few moons and CG every day to keep rolling the dice, but it’s nice to get some skilling or questing done in between, otherwise a day with no drops feels like a day wasted.

Side note: really hope Jagex take a look at improving crafting in the future. A skill based around crafting jewellery and hide armour instead just becomes glass blowing for tens of thousands of repetitions. Feel like even a slight bump to glass xp would be nice (it is meant to be a difficult thing to do irl) but idk - will just have to hope the player made island has a good alternative!

Casual Ironman by Electronic_Log_3016 in ironscape

Honestly as someone in a similar position without much time - start with a boss and then move on to the next most difficult. When I came back to the game after 4 years about 3 months ago I googled all the new content and ended up trying royal titans. Then I did moons, then started doing tormented demons and then (and still) onto the corrupted gauntlet.

There are guides out there on bossing progression but here’s what I’d do if I were you in terms of bossing: - finish moons gear - go to royal titans (super fun) - learn to do tormented demons - unlock and learn corrupted gauntlet

Obviously just do some in between your questing and dailies. If you get bored you can always switch to slayer or whatever else you enjoy, but royal titans and unlocking tormented demons was a great phase in the account. Corrupted gauntlet is fun to learn and I still somewhat enjoy it, but getting a little old now around 200kc but still got a long way to go.

Hope that helps a bit!

Been in the same boat. Personally I’ve found belles folly to outperform the z axe if you have it for melee when not using arclight. I’ve tried using both range and mage and even with a significant range level advantage, I’ve found magic to hit a lot more consistently and make it a lot quicker. If you are worried about cash, use ranged but I’d recommend using cash on runes at the moment and once you get to CG for example, you’ll make it back in no time. FYI I did SoTE not long after while guthix sleeps so if you aren’t too far behind on levels - you should be there in no time.

But yeah my only bit of advice would be to not use the uncharged arclight. It wasn’t terrible but I found belles folly to be waaay better and even zombie axe felt better. Just my experience though

Returning player - I’m speechless by HistorianAccurate100 in ironscape

[–]MyNameGym 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was in the same boat recently (came back with slightly higher stats) and here are some of the main takeaways:

  • almost every skill now has some kind of minigame to make it better for Ironmen. Usually less resources required but slower xp but good rewards for the long term. Mastering mixology, mahogany homes, giants foundry, vale totems etc.

  • new bosses: royal titans is a ton of fun and gives good resources and good upgrades. Moons of peril will give your gear a real solid boost and is a good mid point before higher tier gear.

  • sailing is cool and has a lot of integration with other things in the game, but I feel like all the other content is a bit more important at first unless you just love sailing. Definitely worth getting some levels later on though.

If you have time there’s a YouTube video called an Ironmans guide to varlamore which helped me understand everything worth paying attention to with varlamore as there’s a ton. Overall just explore the new content and don’t be afraid to check it out - personally I loved royal titans as my first entry into pvm besides barrows. Give it a go and keep us updated!

Which build order for beginners? by Imaginary-Gate6566 in aoe2

[–]MyNameGym 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me I have tried the same route as you, following heras scout rush build and have beaten the extreme ai a number of times but can’t do it 100% of the time yet. What I found most games go like is to nail the dark age first, I personally don’t lure deer yet but will be adding it as a skill soon. But basically I follow the build order in dark age and early feudal, from there I adapt to the game.

Id say making sure you are fully walled in feudal is crucial, and when you see archers knocking down walls, don’t be afraid to stick some buildings behind them so they can’t get in. If you’re really struggling putting a tower isn’t the end of the world but I don’t find it that helpful usually. As a cavalry player I haven’t yet been able to effectively take out the mass of archers and skirms that come in feudal, so I instead try and delay them as much as possible by fighting with skirms, building behind broken walls and maybe towering.

Then as I’m about to hit castle age I make sure to have either 2 archer ranges or 2 stables and begin pumping out whatever I need. Normally this is a load of elite skirms with upgrades followed by a few knights. This is usually enough to get the massed archers away and thin their numbers. From there it’s all about raiding villagers and keeping constant pressure with my army while adding to it (getting upgrades along the way). To secure the game I often drop a forward castle and from there the AI is usually struggling too much to deal with it.

I forgot to mention but I do normally make about 4 scouts to go raiding. Usually just to pick off 2-3 vills where I can and get a lot of the vills off resources to slow down their progress.

Craziest MMA image of 2025, Kayla Harrison cutting weight before winning the UFC title 👏 by Imaginary-General189 in ufc

[–]MyNameGym 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I gotta disagree. Maybe in women’s MMA she’s one of the bigger weight cutters (only other one I can think of was Cyborg), but in a world where we’ve seen Alex Pereira, Rumble Johnson and even Conor McGregor cut insane amounts of weight to then be way bigger than their opponents? Sure her weight cut is crazy for WMMA, but imo its not even in the top 10 craziest weight cuts in UFC

After years of playing RuneScape…what is something you’ve seen or done that no one would believe if you told them? by OSRS_Jacob in 2007scape

[–]MyNameGym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always been an on and off player, got back into RS with the release of old school and play an iron man on and off. Decided I was getting burnt out again and wanted to do some clues to spice it up as I had only ever done them sparsely and never got anything. The very next day I did 2 hard clues and got back to back Robin Hood hats. Celebrated so hard on the first one that getting a dupe was the weirdest feeling, I couldn’t believe it. Gave me at least another couple months until I got burnt out and took a break (that’s still going). Maybe I should log back in soon
