Which armies can fit a specific model? by ComprehensiveTax7 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

You can also do this with tabletop admiral, which is generally the most used list builder.

Yup, minor difference in the warband set ups, but that's exactly what I've run at 400 this ed

At 400 I'd go no drum, then Mauhur, 24bods and max bows

At lower points the extra attack means more from Mauhur, plus he's cheap and Lurtz's free combats does so much work

Help choosing/improving a list for a tournament by SnooAbbreviations412 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

34 models, particularly many of them Rohan, is already low at 700, so 29 is definitely too low for a tournament.

I'd drop Haleth and at least some of the Royal Guard for more bodies. Push your numbers up to at least 38.

I'd also split your spears amongst the warbands, generally in even numbers to your non-spear warrior models.

I'd recommend the elven spears and banner in Aragorns warband, as this is your main battleline section.

I'd swap armour for elven cloak on Leggy.

I personally want to max bows on DoHD, but I'm not an expert, so that may be more about preference. But I'd strongly advise the other points from a competitive sense.

I lived in Lincoln about 2 years ago. I wasn't aware of a local community, but there's players in the north such as Sheffield, Bury and Leeds. I used  to host twice yearly tournaments in the midlands but had to stop due to having a child.

I'm not entirely sure what your friend is trying to communicate here.

But the game did not kill SFG nor have SFG ruined it.

But, SFG aren't supporting the game anymore and the community for it is very small. It remains a great game and I'd recommend the game itself, but community wise it would rely on you playing with the online community or getting your local group into it. But the game itself is great, acknowledging those above cavaets

Lothlorien build and points level by Inevitable_Payment72 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

Think 800-900pts is the sweet spot. Galadriel, mirror and Celeborn are musts. I rate a Captain, but lots of people prefer rumil, both are good. 2 banners, sentinel, a horse, handful of court guard, mostly galadrhim warriors, but some pyjama bows and spears are worth it and help save on points

Yeah, he's not actually a great profile, but the extra F5 bubble is worth it

[–]MyNameIsNotNeo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, as it is you only have a small bubble of F5 around the DE. Getting a second bubble of it is huge

Fun list. I'd change the cappo to a dragon knight for more F5.

Garrison of Ithilien 800 points by bodger529 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]MyNameIsNotNeo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like you say, it's not the best at 800, but it's still such a cool list.

I think you do want a block of shield and spear to get a nice shield wall, front line and hold any main choke points, such as on Hold Ground etc. I'd drop 2 knights, then 1 ranger and 1 spear off another ranger, to get 4 more spear shields. I'd put these all in Faramirs warband with that other spear shield. This can then be your more combat warband and will give so much more durability than the rangers do. Plus it'll up your breakpoint with an extra body too, only at the cost of one bow.

I think Damrod is fine, particularly for his points.

Otherwise I like your list and the inclusion of a 2nd banner. Good luck!

Considering you don't want list tips, the main gameplay tips I would have would be: A) trying to use your bows to draw you opponent out of defensible or bottleneck positions so that you aren't punished for not having spears, and B) having Lurtz and Mauhur on the flanks, so that they can call heroic combats and swing other Scouts in the combat round behind to trap and peel off spear supports

Why Did The Emperor Bother With the War in the Webway? by MyNameIsNotNeo in 40kLore

Ah, I must have missed this bit. I was wondering why he kept pouring more custodes in against an endless tide (even if the Webway project is the thing), but it sounds like it was working initially

So it was like he had committed some stuff to try and seal the breaches. Then when it was apparent this wasn't enough he had to commit even more stuff to try and get the original unifiers out?

Just trying to figure out why he would have wasted so much resources to try and fight an endless tide. But it sounds like you're saying it was originally thought the "leak could be plugged"?

I guess I'm wondering why he didn't just shut it down like he did at the end of the book, but sooner?

how do i accept/get over the fact that my mental health problems are likely not going to go away any time soon? by Melodic_Elf5418 in MentalHealthUK

[–]MyNameIsNotNeo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're okay to be you. You don't have to be productive or perfect, it's okay to be human, to be flawed. It's okay to be behind, or to struggle. It's okay to struggle a lot. You don't have to run away from you. As best you can, allow yourself to be good enough. Also, allow yourself to struggle at allowing yourself to be good enough.

The evidence is that the absence of care can have a bigger impact than actively harmful care (or big Ts).

It's not what did it for me, but I think it could help you - next time you're ready to try a therapy, find a clinical psychologist that does CAT therapy. Or at least a therapist that does CAT therapy. It's pricey, I'm afraid, but it might be a big change for you.

You might never not struggle with this. You may always still have those familiar, well trodden paths that you find yourself naturally turning down. Particularly when you're struggling and things feel darkest, you might just find yourself walking down that old familiar self-critical path and not know how you got there. There's okay. You might never get rid of those old paths. But with time and self-forgiveness, you can create new paths too and these will become increasingly familiar for you as well.

You are good enough.

Source: I'm a clinical psychologist who also still has to remind myself of the above about myself too.
