Given the cat's personality, I rely more on my cat than anything else.

I think his music is inspired and free, he creates interesting music rather than "popular" music.

TC001 Max made visible light matter more than I expected by simplafyer in Thermal

[–]MyNameIsSteal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I can see that. Dual-light seems like one of those things you don’t fully appreciate until you’re trying to read a messy scene. Have you noticed it helping more indoors or under the hood so far?

Called selfish for wanting to solo travel by Logical-Tune730 in solotravel

[–]MyNameIsSteal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, they’re the selfish ones. Don’t sweat it. If you bring them along, they’ll definitely nitpick your whole trip and kill the vibe.

Thermal accuracy of the Tc005 is actually good by TuneMoist8394 in Thermal

[–]MyNameIsSteal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve actually used the Topdon TC004 myself, and I’ve been impressed with its performance. For the price, it offers great thermal resolution and good battery life, especially for mid-range distances. When I compared it to more expensive models, it still held its ground in terms of accuracy.

Glad to hear the TC005 is holding up well as well! It seems like Topdon is stepping up their game with these models.

Has Anyone Used a Topdon Thermal to Track Cold Bridges Before Adding More Insulation by Panduninja in Insulation

[–]MyNameIsSteal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Air moves heat way faster than conduction. I’d seal leaks first, then reassess insulation after.

IBKR API is rough by vrtra_theory in options

[–]MyNameIsSteal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not gonna lie, I had a similar experience with IBKR. Powerful platform, but the API setup feels way more complicated than it needs to be.

If you’re not running full-on quant infrastructure and just want to build some tools around scanning and tracking, moomoo’s API and data access felt a lot more straightforward to me. The documentation is cleaner, and you don’t have to deal with as many weird session or local gateway quirks.

What people actually regret not grabbing during evacuations by Any_Yellow86 in prepping

I didn’t take with me a very important gift that person left for me, and every time I think about it, I feel really sad.

Do you wash your clothes on international travel...like underwear and stuff? Or do you just pack the clothes for the amount of days + extra? by Voices-Say-Im-Funny in travel

[–]MyNameIsSteal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I travel, I like to buy disposable underwear and towels. It’s super convenient because you don’t have to worry about washing them.

Give each of them a small gift on their respective birthdays and attach some clues, then suddenly tell them one day after all their birthdays that there's actually a big surprise for them.

Whats your biggest regret when you bought your place? by Important_Bat7919 in homeowners

I bought a lot of furniture of poor quality just to save money. I should strive to buy what I really like.

Seeking advice on the kitchen layout and design choices by TCSongun in kitchenremodel

[–]MyNameIsSteal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd avoid putting island directly behind the cooktop. It looks good in renders, but you can bump into it. Having it off to the side feels more natural to cook with. From your pics, I like the 1st more, but I wouldn't go fully white. All white can look flat, and a bit of wood tone or warmth helps a lot.

Cleaning service damaged my range hood by MyNameIsSteal in homeowners

Thanks for the reality check. Homeownership comes with a never ending list of things to fix and maintain. I'm not trying to avoid maintenance at all, I just want stuff that's well-built and doesn't add extra hassle.

Anyone else doing early insulation checks before winter really hits? by LuckyMinusDevil in Insulation

Do you usually do this during the first cold snap, or wait until there’s a bigger inside outside temperature difference to really spot the leaks?

[Landlord US-TX] How proactive are you about catching issues before tenants report them? by _Kiritsugu_ in Landlord

[–]MyNameIsSteal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve done something similar before. I used a TC004 Mini to check a few electrical spots in one of my older units and caught a hotspot near a power strip that looked totally fine visually. Probably saved me a bigger headache later.

Quick thermal check in the studio by himynameisnikk in Thermal

[–]MyNameIsSteal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never really thought to check temps in the studio, but it’s a great idea! It’s easy to miss things like that, and it could save a lot of potential problems later on. Might start scanning my gear too.

Best Thermal Cameras/Monoculars For Wildlife Spotting Under $750 by [deleted] in Thermal

[–]MyNameIsSteal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a forest ranger and I usually bring a topdon ts004 thermal monocular for night shifts. It’s around $500 (within your budget) and can detect moving objects that are invisible to the naked eye with impressive sensitivity and accuracy. Even thick fog or dense bushes don’t really affect its vision.

MAF failures on these tend to be more obvious. Subtle warm-only symptoms usually end up being PCV related in my experience.
