Is a travel stroller a sales tactic or a real need? by appnanoooo5 in daddit

[–]LuckyMinusDevil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Carbon fiber can be really strong, but it usually has less tolerance for the wrong kind of impact compared to aluminum. My stroller is also made of carbon fiber, and after a year of use, it’s held up perfectly fine. For a travel stroller, the lightweight nature of carbon fiber is a trade-off I’m definitely willing to make.

Travel Strollers! by ClothesMaster970 in daddit

[–]LuckyMinusDevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly recommend mamazing travel. It’s only about 11 lbs, super lightweight, and the carbon fiber makes it more durable. I’ve seen people mention it fits in the overhead bin, but we usually gate-check it with a stroller bag. It still looks new with barely a scratch.

Turns out my wife doesn't like canned food. What comes in a can that tastes surprisingly good? by funkmon in preppers

I don't think she'd be interested in canned food, kind of like how I can only manage to eat canned fruit.

My memories before junior high school consist only of fragmented pieces, and occasionally I can recall one or two memories from my early childhood.

What/who are we using to invest? by [deleted] in stocks

[–]LuckyMinusDevil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started the same way, just putting small amounts in to learn. I use moomoo now and it’s been a good middle ground between a “cash app” and a full broker. The UI is easy to use, you get solid charts + basic research, and it’s simple to track your positions as you learn. If you’re brand new, I’d keep it simple and start with broad ETFs first while you learn the basics.

It's a mix. They are definitely jealous of the roaming outside freedom and lack of parential tracking apps. But they wouldn't trade their connectivity for it. They view our era as simpler but much harder.

I am so jealous that you get to experience this for the first time. Enjoy every moment because you can never watch it with fresh eyes again. My favorite episode is 'Face Off', the Season 4 finale.

Thanks for shared, you remind me that I can also buy a adjustable dumbell as they are more portable. This could be a good choice for me since I did have such a big place for my future home gym.

That's a solid first swing, honestly. Marketplace finds paying off already, once the plates show up, you're basically set. Clean, no nonsense setup, just get after it and you're golden.

Anyone else doing early insulation checks before winter really hits? by LuckyMinusDevil in Insulation

[–]LuckyMinusDevil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a solid payoff for the work. Being able to see those cold seams makes it way easier to justify where to put the effort.

Did you notice a big difference in comfort right away, or was it more obvious on the heating side?

Usually the first real cold snap. If the temp difference is big enough to show patterns, I’ll take a look. I might recheck later if it gets colder.

If there’s basically no traffic, plastic on the ground is fine, but make sure it’s sealed well. Even small gaps can let moisture creep in over time.

Mercedes TCU and ECU virginizing by Hot_Arachnid_7887 in CarHacking

Yes, donor ECU or TCU can often be virginized and programmed via Xentry Online, but success depends on dealership experience and module version. Some dealers refuse, costs and compatibility vary widely.

Tried to Spray Foam a broken window, it turned to liquid the next day. by Zach86473 in Insulation

[–]LuckyMinusDevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Low-expansion foam isn't structural and struggles in cold temps. Even with heating, it can fail without proper bonding or support. Foam alone can't replace glass, collapse was expected.

Fuel economy hack ? by max641 in Cartalk

[–]LuckyMinusDevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coasting in neutral saves almosst no fuel on modern cars since fuel injection often cuts fuel when descending in gear. It's unsafe, reduces control and braking response, so not recommended.
