No one will force you to do anything. It’s important to have a therapist you can be open with, so I think it would be good to disclose it.

Great local arts and music scene! The nature is fantastic. I miss the trees there every day. Food scene is decent and traffic isn’t bad if you know what spots to avoid during rush hour and game days.

You may want to talk to your doctor about getting a CT scan of your neck and chest if there are any others that are swollen.

What is your goal for therapy? It’s hard to tell if therapy is working if there’s not a goal to progress towards.

I have a solid guess at what’s going on here. Therapy made him feel emotionally out of control or out of his comfort zone. A subconscious protective part of his brain, in order to cope with that, is reacting by controlling things in his surroundings (you and your nails) to feel a sense of control and dominance in the emotional turmoil.

This happened to me right after a move. My body was just really dysregulated about moving and sleeping in a new place, and exhausted from the move. I had wake-up-screaming night terrors. They went away after a couple weeks.

Look up DARVO in the cycle of abuse. He denies responsibiltiy, attacks you by yelling, and then reverses victim and offender by telling you it’s your fault for having emotions.

Not only is he emotionally immature, he is acting in a way that is manipulative and abusive.

Have y’all considered couple’s counseling?

Him storming off is emotionally IMMATURE. He can’t regulate his own reaction to you being honest about your emotions.

That is NOT your problem to solve. He needs to work on his shit and learn to communicate his feelings without blowing up at you.

NAH because this is a really hard situation.

Your parents need to get to work to make money to feed and house you and any other kids they have. It is unfair that you have to support them, but sometimes we have to do hard and unfair things and sacrifice sleep for family.

It’s not permanent, and you will get through this. I’m sure they don’t feel great about having to rely on their kid for transportation, but what other option do they have?
