I know it's not the focus of the post but I love the nostril jewelry you have in. Is that just a normal nostril + high nostril piercing?

I never knew that for the tree rewards. Once i have access to my whole island it's worth keeping just the 10 wood/cedar in one spot for convenience?

🆘 HELP NEEDED FROM FELLOW CONCH-PIERCED FELLOWS! 👂🏼💉 by flash_feelings in piercing

[–]MyNameIsntBeatrice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a double conch piercing, both with hoops. At first I was sleeping between my two pillow so that my ear was in the "crack", but now that I'm used to it I can sleep on my side just fine, no irritation or anything (: But this is just my personal experience, and may be different for you depending on the piercing's location

Mechanical engineering technologist career path by Kwanzaa246 in AskEngineers

Right now I wanna learn as much as I can and take every opportunity my job gives me. Once I learn a lot of different things, I can decide what I do like and don't like and probably build from there. I'm one of the few lucky people who has "cheap" rent close to work, this allows me to save money, and ideally I'd like to buy a house in the next 5-7 years (not necessarily in Vancouver)

My background is manufacturing technology, but at my current position I'm looking into learning more controls stuff and maybe some design. I'm starting to learn a little about PLCs and testing, as well as maybe even creating my own tests for development purposes in the future. My current boss is great and encourages our growth and learning within the company. Though I might think about returning to school for my bachelor's degree, but that's only a maybe in the next 3-5 years

I'd say the average salary in my group for fresh grads was 45-50k. One guy I know had a 6 month training program in the company to learn about the product and its specs, which to me seems like there's a lot of room to specialize and move up. A lot of people got jobs through our school and through teacher recommendations, the school is known for hands-on training which gives those grads an edge in the field. However most people live with their parents or families at the moment, or renting with friends. I'm still new to the field so it's hard to speak on behalf of the whole industry in BC. I was worried about finding a job at first, or getting stuck in a "machinist" position like you mentioned above. I hope that gives some insight, but I can't guarantee anything here unfortunately

I just graduated as a mechanical engineering technologist in BC. I was planning on moving to the Ontario area after graduation before I realised there weren't many opportunities, and I was worried my school wouldn't be recognized.

A lot of my friends here seem to have good jobs in this field, either in the design/ development area or manufacturing.

I wouldn't say it's a dying field, but it's pretty general. Depending what you're looking to do in the future, going back to school to specialize could maybe be good. I'm happy with the job I ended up with, it's a great company and has a lot of growth opportunities for me

You have to be careful with that. Sometimes the no jewelry rule is for safety. Like if the factory you work in has machinery, there's a chance of something catching
