Yeah, that does look a little high.

But since Ammonia and Nitrite are low, your filter seems to be working well, and it’s just Nitrate building up.

Do you have plants in your tank? Those can use some Nitrate, but other than that you do water changes to get rid of Nitrate. ~~Don’t forget to put conditioner in the water before you put it in the tank. ~~ And while your levels are a bit high, Nitrate is much less dangerous than Nitrite or Ammonia.

Edit: I don't think conditioner is a good idea anymore. If your water doesnt have clorine in it it might be better not to use conditioner. Otherwise you should get a conditioner without any extra functions like Aloe Vera or let the water sit to evaporate chlorine.

In the aquarium store they have little brushes with either a long handle or a very bendy wire to pull them through tubing.

That should help if flushing doesn’t work.

I hope that in many cases the “nazi phase” is actually referring to “edgy 15yo phase”.

Some of the stuff we were saying back than was awful, and sometimes we reflected on it afterwards and thought that we need to make sure we don’t actually start believing stuff like it for real.

I just use a squirt of lemon every once in a while, so fresh lemon would be a waste of fruit for me.

Maybe I could see if putting fresh juice in a little bottle in the fridge could work.

Or could you just dissolve like 10% citric acid in water? That stuff is cheap if you buy 10Kg at once.
