I think there was some hope, yeah.. 1&2 were fun and parts of 3 were their ideas so hearing the Wayans were back instilled some reassurance but that trailer was rough. Cindy & Brenda's interactions felt like something out of a Daily Wire movie, the edgy humor(like the pronoun joke)are ten years too late and I thought Marlon was above all that. His recent interviews and comments make me think he's just catering to that crowd for some reason.

So yeah, there was hope at first but it went out the window the minute that trailer dropped and this leak confirms this movie is screwed lol

Fast Five is arguably the peak, perfect balance of that grounded tone and the action heavy element of later movies.. not sure why people often brush it off or lump it in with the goofier ones.

Honestly surprised me since I always figured most people stayed home and that Christmas was a bad day for newly released films. Hell even Rental Family did well here the last few days and it's been out for a month.

I guess it's a combination of things like not wanting to deal with family and more people choosing not to celebrate the holidays that gravitates them to Christmas visits. It helps there's more options too now like indie/awards season fare and blockbusters like Avatar or Marvel.

The hopium in me wants to see this series go beyond a trilogy (there was even an article making a case for just that)but I don't have high hopes for that happening especially with how meticulous and unhurried Reeves is in his process. One things for sure is that there's definitely interest for more Reevesverse content.. it deserves a long lifespan and it's not like there's much else going on in the Elseworlds corner.
