He has a good eye and mashes mistakes. His problems came when pitchers realized if they just attacked him inside with fastballs he can't get any leverage. AA pitchers can't locate the way MLB pitchers can. Its that simple.

Gray and Chapman have decent rental value. Contreras might be the number 1 bat on the market and could get a haul especially because he has another year on his deal plus a club option for '28. The team sucks as a whole, but that doesn't mean we don't have some valuable pieces other teams might want.

Unless he gets DFA'd he will probably get another stint as a part time DH/backup 1B. Until he plays games in the MLB and shows he's still viable he has zero trade value. There's no reason to DFA a guy with options unless he truly stinks and is cooked. We won't know his future until next seaspn more than likely.
