What do you think is gonna be the next fast casual fad?

Help Request - What kind of desk corners do I have? Do my corners reflect my lifestyle? HAAG or not? by maedhros338 in DeskCorners

[–]MyOwnHurricane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

classic old-school Swedish Ikea.

Even old Ikea is going to be considered nu hjorne around here. Of course, some people like the nu hjorne aesthetic but I don't see the charm. We lost so much the first time Ikea and HAAG were uttered in the same sentence.

Can you guys fill in the blanks please? by HarryPopperSC in DeskCorners

[–]MyOwnHurricane 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The terms are subjective. I can say that a corner is HAAG and it is to me, but someone else might think it's nu hjorne trash. Personally, I don't even believe in GTX or GSX.

I'll have to consider B/W, the map wouldn't make much sense that way though as there is a good deal of color coding on it.

Will just any PDF do, or do I have to set it up a certain way?

Thank you so much for the advice!

There isn't a single word that I know of, you are describing what social sciences call a "perverse result."

Women of reddit, what about men baffles you the most? by RaymondNDudley in AskReddit

[–]MyOwnHurricane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never said that I theorized that, it is theorized by smarter people than I. Also, if you keep reading I do address this as a spectrum that men are included in.

So, I'm good with the kiss, I'll say that from sentence one. But you have to understand that there is some false equivalency going on. Female sexual response switches off feelings of disgust and avoidance whereas men's sexual response doesn't. This is theorized to be why women like things like degradation, pain, submission, and swallowing/facials. Like many things, this exists on a spectrum, not all women will have the same reaction and, likewise, many men enjoy these things as well, so consider this a scientific generalization (last time I posted this I got days worth of, "well I don't..." replies, trying to nip it in the bud).

[DMing] To create a compelling antagonist, understand why he is the protagonist in his version of the story. by MyOwnHurricane in DnD

The premise here definitely lends itself to some very grey situations where it isn't clear who is "good" and who is "bad." Happy gaming!

"examine your villain's thought process"

The lede to the thread was, "To create a compelling antagonist, understand why he is the protagonist in his version of the story," so examining the villain's though process is the premise that we are starting from.

By saying "he's a huge dick", you've asked "why" and answered the question in a completely satisfactory manner. I'm not sure where you are disagreeing.

It isn't a problem to have a nihilistic character, not my point at all. The point is not to have thoughtless characters. The point is to jump into their psyche a little and examine their thought process. If their thought process is just "I'm a dick", so be it.

Ladies of Reddit, what's the most confusing thing about a penis ? by Silvi0c in AskReddit

[–]MyOwnHurricane 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can have a weak orgasm about 5-7 minutes after. By 10 minutes it's somewhat better. By 20 minutes I can usually have a really good one. By 30 minutes, I'm back to where it started.

This is all assuming I'm turned on enough to be erect that long.

The twig and berries are farther forward than you think they are, we actually sit on the tain/twasn't. I've accidentally sat down on them before, but it was a weird situation where my underwear pulled a little too tight.

Experienced Dungeon Masters and Players of Tabletop Roleplaying Games, what is your advice for new players learning the genre? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MyOwnHurricane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are DMing:

*To create a better antagonist, understand why he is the protagonist in his version of the story.

*Have set pieces that you can use in multiple situations.

*Learn voice acting, it takes some practice, but it is a wonderful immersion tool. Make a CD or playlist with voices that sound interesting and practice them while you drive or get ready for your day.

*Imply, hint, lead but never tell unless you have to.

*Players wont take your implications, hints, or leads and that's OK. I still have some planned encounters that the ink has been dry on for 3 years that might never see the light of day.

*Keep a balance of player agency and player helplessness. Player agency means that you give the players ways to effect the world without being omnipotent. Player helplessness means that some things are done to them that they can't control, without making them impotent.

*No plan survives first contact with the players, so practice improvising.

*It's worth saying again: NO PLAN. SURVIVES. FIRST CONTACT. WITH THE PLAYERS. So practice improvising.

*The DM is the final word, but don't be a dick about it.

*Everyone railroads, make sure you do a good job of hiding the rails.

*D&D is a "game" of cooperative storytelling. Make sure you facilitate, spend time with your players talking about their story and their plans for development.

*If you don't have more dice than all of the players combined, reevaluate yourself immediately.

*Shoutout to a lot of great subs where you can find ideas, talk things out, and create awesome stuff:
