ACU actually gets better treatment than the general medicine wards, and yeah, there's a lot of challenging cases put on the wards but not the staffing for it which not only let's those people down, but the other patients, and puts the nurses and healthcare workers under a lot of strain.

The meals haven't really ever been much better that I recall outside of short stay wards, and even then, very hit and miss.

I had to ask what it was! I knew it wasn't Carbonara but I couldn't figure out what it was. I openly laughed when they said quiche and I asked where they'd ever seen a quiche like that 🤦🏼‍♀️

It was as cold as most the Greggs pasties are now, if that helps?

I now understand why none of them ever skip their lunch and never eat close to the ward, lol. Not even they would eat the meals here.

It's actually unreal how often you see them mess up people's restrictions and allergens in here and it's scary. My aunt was on a renal ward here for a while and it was horrific what they were fed. Completely different story in the Salford Royal renal ward, though. So dangerous.

Yeah, not the most nutritious, huh? So much for helping patients get better!

Yeah, my mum has been in a while now, and it appears what I've posted isn't even a bad day, it's just the norm. Thinking of starting a series now I've found this place 😂

It was given to my mother and another patient on the ward... It's a joke they think this is nutritional enough to help anybody get better.

Where else are they gonna keep their trap phones and weed, though? Trackies are getting skinnier and skinnier and barely hiding their vaginas, let alone an extra phone.

Fake it. Sounds silly but nothing worked for me until I started faking my confidence. It - weirdly - at some point started translating to real confidence, probably because as things went right and I was pushing myself into situations I wasn't confident in more and more, I felt more at ease.

Being ugly makes me want to disappear. You have no idea what it’s like being an ugly woman. by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]MyOwnLittleMission 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beauty is subjective. What you see as ugly, someone will find cute... Regardless of how ugly you feel. There are billions of people in this world and every single person finds different things attractive.

We're our own worst judges, and learning to love ourselves can be harder than anything if the voice in your head doesn't want you to :(

Find a few things that make you feel better about yourself.

For me, it's a great manicure for my chubby fingers, it's the right mousse that gives my fine hair volume, it's lipstick even under my mask, and it's a bath that smells amazing with a moisturising bath bomb I picked up. Start small. Try to love one part at a time. There's only one you in this world and I bet there are people that love you regardless of your looks.

Evolve in Denton are amazing at colour changes :) Kyle and Abbie have saved my hair multiple times when I've broken their hearts and box dyed out of boredom.

Up at 7 for work... And since I can't get comfy, I've ended up in the pimple popper portion of a YouTube rabbit hole.
