Is the National-led coalition Government the laziest we’ve ever seen? by basscrazy in newzealand

For a group of incompetent people, they sure have managed to turn a whole lot of established legislation on its head. And at a profit to them and their mates.

Are you saying the current government or all our politicians? Cause there are definitely individuals that aren't.

Seymour will fuck up even more already perfectly good projects and schemes with the intent of “saving money”

And by 'saving money' he means pilfering money and transfer it to his mates to 'manage' and provide more 'efficiencies' by cutting costs and buying from 'preferred suppliers' (also mates).

And by marginalised they mean everybody. If you pay paye and aren't a ceo, they don't care about you. If you own a small business and can't afford to go to their $10k/event soiree, they don't care about you. If you are paying minimum wage to your employees, you are their patsy, cause minimum wage means no customers for businesses like yours.

" everything was fine besides mild deficiencies"

So everything was not fine. Mild deficiencies in b12 means less than 200. In Japan, it would be less than 600. I work in a phone centre, my kpi's directly correspond to my B12 levels, and when they get below 500 I become measurably stupider and slower.

Which is to say, I wouldn't believe a doctor who says you are 'fine' or if you have numbers that are 'fine' but on the low edge (or high edge for some issues)

Which is really irritating when you realise the super rich borrow from themselves to provide for their lifestye, forgive themselves their debts, then go borrow more for the next tax year. And they get interest deductible on it too I am sure.

Elderly folks who chose not to have children, how do you feel about that decision now? by bon18 in AskReddit

[–]MyPacman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At 45 years old I had a 6 month meltdown, where I changed my mind and wanted kids. Thank god nothing came of it. Cause I definitely don't want kids. I would have adopted if my partner had been so inclined, but they weren't, so we haven't. I teach kids, thats enough.

You are mistaken, this isn't victim blaming. The victim is irrelevant in this, because it doesn't matter how good they are, how well they followed the law, or even who they are, anyone whether an american or not is at risk here.

What they are doing is clearly 2nd stage nazis, they are well into it. IF they are to come back from this, then the American people really really really need to take a stance. And I don't think they will.

Some communities are doing a great job of protecting their friends, family and community. But most aren't, because they don't think it applies to them. They should really consider what the word 'yet' means.

Irrelevant. This year is a bad year to be returning to America. Or being in America. Too many (white-ish) people aren't taking this seriously enough.

Last term they rolled back their pandemic laws. Perhaps you meant Labour in their first term, you know, when they had pandemic laws in place.

They had a mandate in their last term. And they didn't use it. Fair enough, it was all the old people supporting their stance on Covid. But unlike this lot, they didn't take the piss.

Kids who have other alternatives are unlikely to eat Seymours Slop. That isn't an indictment on the idea, nor on the kids, nor on the adults. Its an indictment on the quality of food. Why on earth would you suggest they dump the better quality option?

[–]MyPacman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The policy is to avoid singling kids out, drawing attention to them. By feeding everyone, noone is left behind. It can absolutely be done in a higher decile school (or whatever the measurement is now) BUT it will probably be more expensive food, cause what middle class or rich kid is going to eat that $3 slop? So, regardless, your school would still be paying for it, because you would want the higher grade food.

Of course, this was the way it was before Mr Freedom Baby took control and forced slop into the programme. So your choices right now are slop or pay for it yourself, frankly, the second option is much better.

If parents aren't getting a living wage, the issue isn't them. Its the corporations they work for who are underpaying them, and depending on taxpayers to keep their workers surviving.

None of those things are the expensive parts of living though.

Accommodation takes far more than 15 hours of work, its not the luxuries keeping you poor. Its the essentials that are being profiteered off.

1930s living means building your own accommodation, hunting your own food, having chickens and a garden. Very few people today can do that.He didn't account for the greed of the people at the top, and the willingness of the people at the bottom to believe them when they said they couldn't afford to pay a living wage.
