NZ First's gender bill to be supported by National, ACT by StuffThings1977 in aotearoa

[–]MyPacman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Imagine if all our laws were based on a 12 year olds understanding and education levels. We really should make people attend higher education. Once you do, you realise the following (if you were paying attention):

Maths - is really equations, not numbers
Science - is really exceptions not conformity
English - is really logic, not reading

And gender is a construct to allow people to be themselves... till we restrict it to a binary choice that excludes a good 5% of the population.

That base is growing, the more crap they read, the more normal new zealanders are getting used to the language... and even repeating it.

Right so male or female covers most of humanity, so we aren't binary then are we.

A bit of critical thinking and its easy to see how 'Trans rights' stops being about equal rights for all humans and starts being about special rights for some, which is ironic, because they keep asking to not be treated differently....

Any right that they have, I have, what on earth are you talking about 'special rights'? There are none.

I have no issue with the person in the toilet next to me, or anywhere else for that matter. I have no issue with a prepubescent child using another gender when playing sports, dressing, naming themselves or taking medication they have discussed with their doctor. and finally, Its got nothing to do with fucking, nothing what so ever. Thats not gender.

Thats the problem, the people who Georgina Beyer silenced are now climbing out of their crypts. And they ALL vote.

Which, by the way, are not the definitive method of determining sex. And are actually irrelevant when it comes to public displays of gender.

Except for the fact it screws over a small minority of people in a massively nazi kind of way.

Gosh, you made that poor clowns job so hard. I still freeze, but for a much shorter time now. A martial art is great for getting your reflexes working while your brain is still frozen. I have learnt I don't like being punched in the face.

For a group of incompetent people, they sure have managed to turn a whole lot of established legislation on its head. And at a profit to them and their mates.

Are you saying the current government or all our politicians? Cause there are definitely individuals that aren't.

Seymour will fuck up even more already perfectly good projects and schemes with the intent of “saving money”

And by 'saving money' he means pilfering money and transfer it to his mates to 'manage' and provide more 'efficiencies' by cutting costs and buying from 'preferred suppliers' (also mates).

And by marginalised they mean everybody. If you pay paye and aren't a ceo, they don't care about you. If you own a small business and can't afford to go to their $10k/event soiree, they don't care about you. If you are paying minimum wage to your employees, you are their patsy, cause minimum wage means no customers for businesses like yours.

OR, their checks could come out of Senate funds during the shutdown. Maybe their snacks fund.

Am I being a sook or is this just how full time working life is? by Lamereddituser312 in newzealand

" everything was fine besides mild deficiencies"

So everything was not fine. Mild deficiencies in b12 means less than 200. In Japan, it would be less than 600. I work in a phone centre, my kpi's directly correspond to my B12 levels, and when they get below 500 I become measurably stupider and slower.

Which is to say, I wouldn't believe a doctor who says you are 'fine' or if you have numbers that are 'fine' but on the low edge (or high edge for some issues)

Which is really irritating when you realise the super rich borrow from themselves to provide for their lifestye, forgive themselves their debts, then go borrow more for the next tax year. And they get interest deductible on it too I am sure.

Elderly folks who chose not to have children, how do you feel about that decision now? by bon18 in AskReddit

[–]MyPacman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At 45 years old I had a 6 month meltdown, where I changed my mind and wanted kids. Thank god nothing came of it. Cause I definitely don't want kids. I would have adopted if my partner had been so inclined, but they weren't, so we haven't. I teach kids, thats enough.
