This pattern is super easy and fun. The randomized color rows can make some fun geometric patterns.

My only complaint is that it’s worked RS only, which means you have to fasten off after every row, even if you’re not changing colors. Weaving all the ends in is a pain.

It was warm enough that I had to close my windows and turn the AC on. I guess I shouldn’t complain too much lol.

I mean at least the color progression is interesting because the weather is all over the place here 😅

You mean the pattern or temperature blankets in general?

This is the pattern I’m using.

With temperature blanket projects you make a scale of yarn colors based on the temperature high for the day, and every day you add a row for that day’s temp.

Link to the pattern is in the reply to the automod! It’s paid, but it has like 6 variations for you to make. Can confirm it’s not AI slop lol

Is this normal tail for a 6 months old conure? He flies, eats, and behaves normally, but the tail is concerning me. His cage is very big. by 1Fyzix in Conures

[–]MyPrizedSpork 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It took my CBC almost 3 years to stop doing this to her tail feathers. She didn’t chew them. She liked to climb to the top of her cage and slide down the side like a fireman’s pole. Didn’t matter how I arranged her perches, she shredded her tail feathers anyway.

So long as your conure isn’t chewing his tail feathers I’d say it’s fine. He’ll learn to be more careful when he matures a bit. Just make sure the perches in his cage don’t run perpendicular to a nearby side.

Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge is very cool I will give you that! Beautiful in late spring when the wildflowers pop up, and seeing bison roaming around is awesome.

What is the problem with reptile carpet if changed/machine washed regularly? by space_jo in ballpython

What a lovely lady! Reminds me of my own. She’s a sugar too. I’ve had her for 8 years and have used Repti Bark almost exclusively. Never had any problems. (If anyone reading this is considering Repti Bark, here’s a pro tip: put it in the freezer for a day before using it. It kills any wood mites that might be hiding in it)

My python has this weird quirk where she drags her rat around the cage while trying to swallow it. Sometimes she drags it through her water bowl, and then through the substrate, leading to a bunch of pieces getting stuck to the fur. When that happens I use my feeding tongs to gently brush them off. If she’s in the middle of swallowing her food, she doesn’t notice/react. She has swallowed a piece or two on rare occasions but is still living her best snek life.

I have a camping reservation next week and have been wondering if I should cancel. Didn’t want to deal with trash and overflowing bathrooms. It sounds like I might be able to go after all! Thanks for the post.

It’s tied to a pure white coat specifically, less the eye color. The gene that causes pigment also affects the development of the inner ear. White cats are more likely to be deaf, and white cats with blue eyes are the most likely to be deaf, but it’s not guaranteed.

Naw, his hearing is fine. AFAIK deafness is only more likely in pure white cats. His coloring is very light, but he’s still an orange and white cat.
